Horrors of the Unknown (with Vulcan)

Enigma sighs and sits down, trying to gather her thoughts "there's only one other pony aside from Slender who can possibly help us with this, it just depends on if he is within the dream realm or not" she says and closes her eyes "His name is Carnage,a nightmare pony who could help, but..." she looks up at Crescent "just remember, he'll be here to help us, so..try not to be scared of him" she says with a slight giggle then shakes her head "Who am I kidding, you stepped into Slender's realm without balking, that takes stones" she says, closing her eyes once more to call out of Carnage.

About ten minutes later, a tall, brownish stallion with some of his bones showing, bone wings, a bone tail, spikes and small horns appears "Ah Enigma, good to see you again, and Crescent, always a pleasure" he says as he looks over to the direction of the manor and shakes his head "How they got that kind of magic is beyond me, but I can easily find out" he says and concentrates for a moment "Well it's going to be harder to find out than a little filly's fears, but the fact it is night time and usually always dark helps my abilities to hide" he mentions and then looks to Crescent "You keep a close eye on our little mare here alright? She may not look it, but she is scared stiff"

Enigma didn't even bother denying it "I...if what the report is half true, which I am inclined to believe it is, then this is a very dangerous mission and we really need to much, much more about what we will be getting into" she says and nods "So yes, it is safe to say that I am scared stiff, the use of that kind of shadow magic is forbidden for a reason"

Crescent reached out his hand over Enigma's  shoulder, turning his attention attention towards her, "Maggs, Its gonna be fine, We'll get through this... I won't let anything happen to you" He assured her, visibly shaking as he pushed his own fears aside. The strength of magic that Crescent had sensed at that mansion was stronger than anything they had ever faced... Much stronger... And deep inside He was unsure if they would both make it out alive.

Carnage nods "Stay close to Crescent, 'Nigma, he's a good sort and will keep you safe, I'll return as soon as I learn more about this cult and the kind of magic they are using" he says before disappearing into the shadows and leaving them alone.

Enigma whimpers a little, she hadn't heard anyone call her that nickname in a long time. Snuggling up close to Crescent she sighs and rests her head on his shoulder "I know Cres, it just scares me that they somehow got their hands on very ancient and very dark magic that's been forbidden for centuries"

Crescent's body visibly shivered as enigma snuggled close to him, he knew he was terrified but having her around made him feel stronger.  "It's gonna be fine, Maggs" Crescent replied flustered as he gazed up towards the moon, it's gentle light setting his orange eyes aglow. "I won't letting anything happen to you" He added nervously as he placed his arm over her shoulder.

Enigma smiles and rests her head on his shoulder "Have I ever told you that I love it when you use my nicknames?" she asks as she cuddles closer into his embrace "And I wouldn't worry about Carnage, he is a nightmare pony and can do things that...us normal ponies can't" she says with a little giggle and nuzzles him lovingly "Let's just make a promise, here and now..that we will both get out of this alive, and then..we will go out on a date together. Promise?"

Crescent  thought for a moment, his hand slipping into his front pocket, taking a small pocket watch with an emblem similar to that which was etched on Dawn's emerald  necklace.... He fumbled it through his fingers before grasping it tightly . Crescent glanced at Enigma who was awaiting his answer, as he clutched the pocket watch with a soft smile before tossing it behind him out into the large lake causing an audible splash as it fell deeper into the frozen abyss. "Alright Maggie, I promise" He replied , nuzzling her back, "...but you have to promise that if we both make it out alive then... I get to make you dinner" He added with a wide toothy smile.

Enigma smiles and nods "I promise" she says as she kisses his  cheek and snuggled next to him, awaiting for Carnage's return, which...didn't take as long as she thought, but what she saw made her hug Crescent tightly "C-Carnage w-what happened?" she asks shakily.

Carnage smiles and nods as he sits down "Nothing too serious Mags, just a slight corruption, but due to my nature it won't last long" he says and starts to clean his fresh wounds "But now for the bad news, I did indeed find out what kind of music they are using" he says and looks over to the mysterious manor "And you were right, crystal magic, very dark, ancient crystal magic to be more precise, along with shadow magic and other things.." he says and shakes his head "They're trying to call upon the masters of darkness, but to do what, I have no idea, these ponies were absolutely insane I tell you, and I know insane"

Enigma nods and looks to Crescent "Crescent, this is bad, the fact they're not just using a forbidden form of magic,  but mixing it with other dark magics is bad enough, but calling upon the masters of darkness is...we can't do this alone, it's too dangerous, I'll go to tell Slender, you can either come with me or go straight to the Princesses"

"I think I'll tag along" Crescent smiled as he stood beside her, His relationship with the princesses were never very friendly after his incident in Manehattan. For a moment He considered calling upon other sources of assistance like the SCP... but quickly shook his head,even if they could've done something they'd probably take him too maybe even enigma. 

"and If I happen to see Dawn while we're there..." Crescent whispered towards Enigma "I'll tell her it's over... "

Enigma nods with a sigh, she hated Dawn, the way she treated her before was just downright mean "Alright then sweetie, Carnage, what you going to do?" she asks as she begins to draw the symbols to go back to Slender's realm.

Carnage sighs "Rest for a bit, then I'll go see the Princesses, they'll need to hear my report from me and nopony else" he says as he lays down "you two be safe alright?"

"You be safe too, Cg" Crescent replied cautiously as he worriedly scanned Carnage's injuries. "They're influence seems to project much farther than that manor...The magic of This entire forest seems to have been corrupted somehow" He added, sensing the increase in unknown magic that had been steadily rising since they've entered the everfree. "Be Careful" He cautioned before turning towards Enigma as she drew her symbols.

Carnage smiles "Worry not young Crescent, I don't get affected the same way you normal ponies do, and plus I have long running standing with Moon and Sunbutt" he says with a chuckle and watches Enigma before going back to cleaning his wounds.

Enigma chuckles "Just..be careful of Dawn, though I'm sure we'll be well protected in Slender's realm"

"I am a bit worried about what she's planning" Crescent admitted, remembering the odd symbol,  last he saw that necklace on Dawn's neck she tried to sap the monster out of him. "I'm sure we'll be fine" He smiled, assuring her. "For all we know we might not even see her."

"Let us hope" she says as she finishes drawing the symbols and the doorway appears. She then smiles at him, holds his hand and steps through the doorway. As she does, she looks around, sighing in relief as Dawn didn't seem to be around, though Slender was almost waiting for her "Ah, I was wondering when you would report back to me, Agent Enigma" he says  in a deep tone.
