I have a theory about Starlight

I sense something HUGE coming for Starlight. I just finished the rock solid friendship episode (spoilers) and this is the second friend Starlight Glimmer has ever made.

She is now friends with Trixie Lullamoon, and now Maud Pie.  The following is for comedic effect to get my point across.

You: Well that doesn't sound like anything special! She is making her own friends for the first time! :please:

Well well! I see your point! But you didn't let me finish!

You:  Then what is the big deal about making friends!

Both Trixie and Maud Pie has never had a single friend in their entire life.

You: Really?, oh well I guess you are right, I must not had been paying much attention. That is so sad. :adorkable: But HEY! They have friends now so its all cool! :pinkie:

Yes my brony friends! that IS a good thing. Now tell me. Who is the Princess of "FRIENDSHIP"?

You: Uhh...Twilight Sparkle...of couuurrsee! DUH! Everypony knows that! :please:

Yes, and who met Trixie and Maud first, on multiple occasions.

You: Twilight did! Well, Starlight may had met Maud once before maud ever met twilight way back then, but they never even talked or anything, starlight just asked a question. :)

That's right. Now what is Twilight the princess of again one more time?

You: Umm...friendship?

So, there is no such thing as a pony who knows more about friendship than twilight does right? She is that absolute alpha and omega of frienship as she currently stands?

You: I wouldn't put it like that, everypony has a lot more to learn everyday, but sure I guess.

OK!, now then, since the princess of friendship, whose sole duty it is to spread friendship and make friends with everypony met trixie and maud on multiple occasions way before starlight ever met them, why is starlight both Maud Pie's and Trixie Lullamoons first friend "ever".

You: What do you mean lol? Of twilight is friends with Maud, maybe not trixie so much but maud she is friends with! Remember the episode when she first appeared? :ooh:

Then both Maud and Trixie would NEVER had told Starlight, pinkie or anypony that they never had a single friend in their life before. Maud told it straight to pinkies face. Maud doesn't think of Twilight or any of the mane six as friends at all. She specifically stated, she has tons of ponies she "likes", but no pony who "gets her", and trixie blatantly told starlight that she has never had a friend before. Considering that these ponies are adults that is sad.

You: Wow...that is kind of weird, but what's the punchline?

The "punchline" is that Starlight Glimmer, the apprentice of Twilight, just made friends with TWO ponies who have two very important things in common, and I EXTREMELY doubtful that it is a coincidence. Those two things are that 1. Starlight Glimmer is making friends with ponies who are mentally incapable of making any normal friends like most ponies due to their personality traits, and 2. They are both ponies that Twilight Sparkle, the supposed princess of friendship either Failed to help them in their friendship problems, either intentionally or lacking any ability to know that they needed help in the first place or refused to do so out of hatred for the pony they use to be.

Twilight sparkle hated trixie and probably still does to some degree. If she truly was the princess of friendship, if she was the avatar of friendship, she would had at least been able to known something was amiss when all she did was hang out by herself all the time, and occasionally order some ponies around to help her do stuff. Same basic thing goes for Maud, anypony who acts that out of the ordinary, she would had at least had a convo with Pinkie, or at least ask, hey, what are her friends like? Starlight made friends with two ponies who had never had a friend before in their life, and the princess of friendship didn't help.

That is pretty big I think, I don't know what it could mean for the future, but the only thing I need for this to not be a coincidence is for Starlight to make friends with at least 1 more character with the same two traits in common in order for this to be concreate.

Maybe they are setting up the successor to mlp with a new cast of main characters built off starlight and her friends. Maybe it is starlights path to princesshood, or something else. Whatever it is, I think this is a trend, and it is leading somewhere big.

Not convinced. For all her self-proclaimed role as Princess of Friendship and so forth, Twi hasn't actually been that good at making friends; friends OF friends, yes - Discord and Thorax being good examples - but successes are more down to the team than to Twi individually.  Which is fine, of course - not all personality types are a good match. Trixie is much like Discord in this respect, and could end up becoming closer to the core group via her friendship with SG. Maud, on the other hand... probably not. All the core group have tried and failed to bond with her before, and are clearly seen as more "friends of my sister" than anything else. I can't imagine Maud seeing any other friends of SG (such as Trixie) as more than that either though, so would be hard to include Maud in a "new group" built around SG. SG herself isn't really conductive to that either; her mentorship from Twi is still a vital emotional crutch for her, and going by S7 so far, Twi seems at LEAST as resistant to any tapering off of that relationship as SG herself is.

I see how its the 'outcasts' vs the 'normies'.

The outcasts have more potential conflict, but Thorax is colorful now, idk if he is gonna keep being a character lol.

Like think of it this way, darker grittier more realistic equestria, vs, Sunshine celery stalks, butterflies, dresses. Twilight is dead, she became totally brainwashed from friendship and has no personal interests anymore. (her alicorn responsibilities r gonna kill her on the inside)

We should see episodes of oh Twi is researching the stars or sciences or something, no, she is totally brainwashed and neurotic now. No interests anymore. Like is she even a real person? (existential meltdown j/k)

And the ponies who had interests are like apples apples apples rocks rocks rocks. Now the show might be like Well I am usually all about Rocks, but kites can be cool too I guess.

Twi's circle is like, well, the apples butterflies dresses gottagofast books and diabetus get together n co-operate. Then again um, dash n aj had stuff, dash n twi had stuff shared. I think that it, they aren't very good friends then are they? Like what do they even do together? Its like they band together in times of need, and that's it. And for the sake of this friendship meme lets hang out.

Like do we ever see them just having fun together, like Oubliettes and Ogres was the only time really. I feel like if AJ wanted to play a game of Horseshoes only Dash would play.

Now its like Starlight is like ...kites? Maud is like, hmmm, kites, ok.

I think the show is trying to embrace a more realistic less preachy idealized, and more consequence focused friendship. Which I approve of.

But I am second guessing myself so much I don't really know, its not a simple thing, and I don't have a perfect memory so my analysis had to update as I remembered more stuff so it took me longer.

Its like the difference between a responsibility focus, and an enjoyment focus. But idk maybe I am wrong, can't think of everything. Its a very good question tho, makes my brain do alot of processes like a computer might except my self-awareness interrupts it too lol.

On a side note I think Luna should join them.

All things that interact with the world exert a force. All things that exert a force have an opposite and equal force. Ergo, nothing immaterial exists [because where would the opposite force be without material as a medium?]. Ergo god doesn't exist immaterially. Also if the universe were infinite itd take infinite time for a god to make it. If it were finite it'd be subject to entropy. Which means an eternal god can't exist.

  1. This is hilarious because I was reading it, with Discords voice in season 2 when explained the game.
  2. Your theorie is correct, but we'll just have to see!
  3. I hope there isn't going to be a spin-off, but rather a new main group. A spin-off is always less great then the original and that's what I'm afraid of.

I'm sorry but the show began with the mane 6 and it's going to end with the mane 6. You don't just spend several seasons watching them grow and develop only to have them fade into obscurity before the end while a bunch of mediocre (imo) secondary characters take over.

My prediction for Starlight: Her story ends after season 7, and a new storyline for the mane 6 starts up.

Only way I can see that happening is space or dimensional travel. They all have their own responsibilities, so some great disaster would have to happen but because lately MLP is just a parallel to reality I doubt they want to set an unrealistic example for the younger audience anymore, and establishment wise its very risky to do so. It'd be great plot-wise however, but the show is more slice-of-life lately it won't happen.
