Luna drawing

This is the first serious drawing I´ve ever made, considering that the best thing I´ve done before this was a bad sketch of a teacher i hated in 30 minutes in class and a not finished drawing of Malathrom´s oc, which I would have finished if I didn´t try it in class, without a reference and he didn´t have a detailed mask covering his face.

This one was made in home and with no distractions. I used Microsoft Paint and a mouse, so don´t expect it to be too good. I like it but I´m the creator so my opinion might not be 100% objective.

She´s not supposed to be doing anything special. I chose this pose because why not.

Here you will probably learn something about paint. I don´t know. It´s just the process for people who give a crap about this.

 

First I made the sketch. All I know is that these are the lines that help you do the actual lines later. I know that the cross on the head indicates the direction she will be looking at but I think it´s not the exact same direction she is really looking at in this case .

 

Here I just drew the lines and erased the sketch. Unlike in photoshop, there are no layers in paint, so to erase the sketch lines, I got the bucket tool, filled all the spaces with the same colour that I used for the sketch and then emptied them all, leaving just white spaces.

 

The colouring part was easy. Just fill each space with the colour that goes there with the bucket. The stars in her hair and chest are just tiny white ovals using the oval shape with solid fill.

 

The final step was the shades and highlights (I also moved the mouth closer to the head, joined the lines at the bottom of the head and erased the line between her eyes before that, because it looked strange without these changes.) You can see I used a bunch of colours for the skin, for the white of the eye, for the blue and purple part of her hair, for the tongue and the mouth. Also, unrelated to the shading and highlights, I used very similar shades of green for the iris to make each of its three parts look a bit like a gradient instead of plain boring colours. Plus the lines are now coloured just like in the show except for the tongue, which should probably have orange lines, but who cares.

Compared to the one that´s just coloured, this one is way better. It feels like a huge change.

Wow! I'm always astonished by good MS Paint artwork, since it's such limited software to author with. Keep up the awesome work!
