gaming Best GTA theme

What is your favorite main theme from the GTA-series? Mine has to be the one from GTA III. Such a classic.

Damn skippy! I can easily see Mr. Leone sitting in his office listening to this theme whilst cooking up his Families' next move. :D

Also, I forget how badass the GTA 3 composed music is in general. Opening cut-scene riffs add such flavor considering the minimal character dialogue and how quickly everything is established.

Oh god, that prisoner transport cinematic will always stick with me.

"I know a place on the edge of the Red Light District where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up so you better drive, brother."

Nostalgia.

Same thing with the Vice City opening, so cool. :D

I think Vice City is best remembered for it's 80's flair soundtrack, period. It's the only game in the series that I ever went out and bought the official soundtrack for. Still have it all on CD and my MP3 to this day.

Take! These broken wings! And learn to fly again, learn to live soooo freeeeee!!

(Also still laugh at the guy in the freezer) >.>

I'd have to go with San Andreas since (as far as I know) its the only GTA theme with actual lyrics. Though in the actual game they use this song, but remove the lyrics.

If that doesn't count then I'd have to go with GTA IV's theme. Just listening to this reminds me of 13 year old me running around killing other players, and doing all sorts of online events. I recently went back to playing this after 4 years of leaving it alone, and holy crap it feels very weird compared to GTA V.

GTA: Vice City had (in my opinion) the coolest trailers out of all of the GTA games purely because of the music and the vibes.

It's multi-disk. One CD for each of the respective radio stations (with the unfortunate exception of the talk channels "VCPR" and "K-Chat"). But each CD cover features the station's respective DJ on the cover, and each of them give their own intro's, interludes and outro's to the CD, as well as a bonus skit at the end if you leave it running for long enough, and some of the commercials that were also featured in-game thrown in. It was a pretty nifty box set overall. Usually goes for well over $100 on ebay nowadays.

Haha! Pretty much my reaction when I first saw it.

And people say Lazlow was only first seen in GTA V. He's right there on the cover of V-Rock I think you'll find. :orly:

The radio stations were always the best, mostly because of their social commentary, haha.

You had to be somewhat of a bright bulb to catch some of it, though. ^_^

Or at least had some good knowledge of current American society and trends. I can tell you that as a European listening to them for the first time I probably didn't get half of what they were on about. Although it did mean I was more capable of understanding the jokes made at England's expense and having a good laugh at it. :derp:

lol shots

But yeah, they were mostly American-centric, which (especially in Vice City) was really confusing.

I wish they made another GTA: London 1969, lol - then they could really throw in some fodder that we could understand. :adorkable:

I've always loved San Andreas' mainly because of nostalgia, but I think GTA IV's is the best one. So charming, yet somewhat eerie. All you can feel is anticipation as the song builds up. It really fits the gritty mood creeping from within the shadows of GTA IV.

The intro boat cinematic in GTA IV is legendary, really sets the tone of the game.

AND YOUR COUSIN, WHO CAN'T FORGET YOUR COUSIN? WANNA GO BOWLING?

Well...

To be honest, I would have gone for the "deal" too if he even as much as dared to call me one more time asking for... bowling.

He really wasn't that bad. Lol.

Also, I know this isn't technically a main theme song, but I love the pause menu theme for GTA IV: The Balled of Gay Tony

Brucie though. He was BAD. Jesus christ.

Oh yeah, The Ballad - probably the best expansion of the two, hehe.

Btw, recently found the best track from GTA V imo. This should have been the theme of the game.

It does such a good job at immediately setting a tone and it is so nostalgic on top of that.
