What is a video game purchase you regret and why?

Since this here is kind off a similar topic as " Your personal worst games ever " i would just repeat myself, by saying yet again, that i totally hate Ghostmaster - The Gravenville Chronicles.

But instead of talking about that game again, im just going to talk about that one Situation, where i did regret buying something, but not because the games sucked. I think i just became an Adult when i finally got my own bank account and could buy things online with my own Money. But since i couldnt manage Money back then and because i heard you can even get your account on a minus, as long as you pay your Money back, i bought myself Worms, Worms Reinforcements and Worms United, all in Big Pc Boxes for my Collection. After i also tried to buy myself Worms - The Directors Cut, i got a message, that im not authorized because i couldnt even pay for all these Games and shortly after, i got my first warning in the mail.

I really regret buying all of these Games, because than i had to tell my parents, that i own Paypal up to like 100 Dollars, because i was an Idiot and my parents had to pay for me. And sadly, that wasnt the only time i did something like that. I also got my bank account on a minus, when i bought myself Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle. I dont do it now anymore and i cant, because Paypal actually blocked me and lets me only buy Stuff, when i have the Money directly on my paypal. Otherwise my payment gets blocked because of risks. Well, thats my own fault and im even happy that they blocked me this way, so im not even able to spend to much money anymore.

-Brutal Legend. I'm a metal head. It had a metal premise w/ vocie acting by metal royalty and came with a kick ass soundtrack. Lemmy was your item vendor for crying out loud! Unfortunately it was buggy and while it looked hack n' slash, boiled down to tower defense pretty quickly. Good thing it was a steam sale or I'd be really pissed.

-WWF: Raw. This was back when I was starting off as a wrestling fan. Browsed game stop. Got it for a "bargain." Turns out that the WWF's X-Box launch title kinda sucked. Yeah, it had good graphics, but no story mode, poor sound quality, one stage to choose from and no clear means of winning matches outside of button mashing.

-WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 & 11. This is about the point where the SDvRaw franchise started suffering from the Madden, FIFA & COD issues of 'new package, same product.' Storymode's became more linear. Features were getting axed. And a big buying point for me, the creation suite and the things you can do with your created character, became more limited. Luckily I didn't buy any future installments, as those have been of varying quality since.

-Marvel vs. Capcom 3 . Cause 'Ultimate' MVC3 came out like 9 months later!

  • 3 years later...

I regret purchasing some games, and one of them is Fallout 76. It just got boring for me really fast and I don't think I got my money's worth out of it.

*totally not up to any shenanigans* :ithastolookpretty:

I definitely feel this one. While I enjoyed the game a lot and thought it made a really great adventure game(when, you know, it acted like an adventure game), but I was taken aback when it suddenly turned into this weird strategy game and the kind I'm not a fan of at all. Turned a potentially great game into an only okay game

I'd have to say "Dirt:rally" (I think that is what its called) like driving a hockey puck compared to beamng:drive or real life. Quit 2 minutes too late to refund that disaster.

Or the "Gold Rush: The Game" which could have been good...but for being the only modern mining game and it not having multi player or a make up for it...well long story short you can't run a mine with 1 person, especially while your equipment keeps flying away.
