Hey guys, I know I have posted about the Equestrian girl books lately. However, I wanted to talk about the movies and episodes today. I'm just wondering what all you original MLP fans think about the Equestrian girl series? I actually started watching the Equestrian girls before I even watched the original MLP, which is why I'm very curious to see how it felt for you guys to watch the Equestrian girls series after getting used to the original series. I personally think that both the Equestrian girls and the original MLP is exciting. The plots and animations are all developed by the same people which is probably why those elements are great in both.

Besides from the main movies and books, the Equestrian girls also have 20 minute episodes (Just 3). I have watched those and I think they should release them more often! Please let me know what you think about the Equestrian girls series down below!

When I first heard of Equestria Girls, I wasn't too sure if I would like it or not. But after watching it and the subsequent movies and shorts that have come out since, I can actually say that I really do enjoy it.

I can understand why some Bronies don't like it though, a lot of them seem to worry about the same thing, that Equestria Girls will somehow "contaminate" Friendship is Magic.

EQG is a testament to the ability of the MLP team to turn whatever crazy directive they get handed by the bosses into something workable.  The first movie wasn't anything special, but avoided being awful by having catchy songs and some pretty good bits.  Rainbow Rocks was genuinely good movie.  Friendship Games was a step back in writing quality, but the ending fight made it worthwhile.  LoE and all the shorts range from decent to great.

Overall, I'm about as excited for new EQG content as the main show.  Main show doesn't have Sunset Shimmer.

I also watched EQG before I properly started watching the show. I liked the first film when I first watched it, but now I don't really think it is as good as the other films in the series. Rainbow Rocks was in my opinion an amazing film, and Friendship Games was almost as good. Legend of Everfree was alright, I guess. The three 22 minute episodes were great, too.

The only problem I have with the series is that the villains are starting to get a bit repetitive. Almost all of the villains are transformed versions of some girl, and they always get defeated in the exact same way, then reformed.

When I watch the original for the first time, I had no idea that there were spin-off, I first discovered it when I was YouTube videos(MLP based that it), in some of those videos it showed a character that was not in the original anywhere, I looked though some of videos comment and I managed to find it's name: Sunset Shimmer now i search the name online, and that's how I found the spin-off francise known as Equestria girls.

I didn't much like the idea when I first heard about it, and after watching the first movie those worries seemed to have partially come true. Aside from the music, I really don't think the first EQG was very good. However, when Rainbow Rocks came out I decided to give it another try, and the series has been really enjoyable ever since and Sunset's become one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise.

It would be nice if they released more episodes of it, like the Dance Magic, Movie Magic, and Mirror Magic ones, especially if that allows for an opportunity to bring Princess Twilight back into the series from time to time.

Like the show itself, my feelings on Equestria Girls vary wildly depending on what the latest bit of content was. I thought the first movie was alright, and I was very much on board with the second and third, but Legend of Everfree and the "Magic" specials had very little I cared about in them. The "Summertime Shorts" were pretty uneven, and I didn't like how some of them were cheaply outsourced, but they got more charming as they went on, and this new short series has been a lot more satisfying to me than most of the other recent content. So, circa November 2017, I generally like Equestria Girls - perhaps more than the show, even.
