After seeing some of the work a lot of you ponies did, I decided to give it a shot myself. It was originally a snapshot of Fluttershy with the Falcon and Eagle resting on her arms. I changed Fluttershy to my OC, Pinstrype. Please give some feedback and tips on doing better. Thanks.

Well, the quality of the lines was lowered by what I can assume is your switch between fluttershy and your OC. If you have photoshop then you might want to look into some tutorials on the wand tool... Well actually for that matter.. What happen to your line quality? They seem very sharp and jagged?

The only thing I don't like about this one is the eyes and the outline.

The eyes seem awkwardly positioned to me, and the outline is somewhat un-even, in my opinion. At least, the outlines at his body :P

Do you know of any tutorials made for Photoshop Elements 5? I'm a bit short on money to buy the awesome Adobe Photoshop CS5. For the line quality, I honestly don't know.

Generally speaking, the vector capabilities of all Photoshop versions are... not very good. If you have no money to purchase Adobe Illustrator then I recommend that you look into InkScape.

As for your cuts... well Elements 5 is quite a bit old, but it looks like you have anti-aliasing turned off. I would suggest turning that on and making sure that your wand tool's tolerance is at 32.

I agree with Bohtty, Inkscape is a very good vectoring program considering its free and you can get some high quality results. I use it every time I vector and other than a few hiccups now and then it works beautifully. Also there are a few tutorials on youtube specifically regarding inkscape and vectoring ponies.
