Top ten most pitiable villians.

 

1. Princess Luna - (My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic)

Simply for being a showoff, she was blasted into space for 1000 years. I have not heard of such cruelty as this. By her own sister. I do not believe anyone has had it as rough as this poor little pony. Who is the real villian, by the way?

 

2. Darth Vader (Star Wars)

His viscious murder spree was unjustifiable. But I cannot help but feel sorry for him. He accidentally killed his one true love by ironically trying to save her. He lost all of his friends. His best friend chopped his own legs off. He has to live in a monochromatic cyber suit. He serves the person who is responsible for all of his misery. And he takes out all of his anger and regret on the Imperials, instead of the Emperor who was responsible for it all.

 

3. Moriarty (Sherlock Holmes 2010)

At first the only emotion you feel is hatred towards him. But at the end with his shocking suicide you cannot help but shed a tear for this guy. It seems he was just a plain, sad, suicidal person. Perhaps he would have been saved with just a small dose of medication.

 

4. The Joker (The Dark Knight)

It seems he had suffered heavy child abuse during his childhood. I don't think he was always so brutish, and the story of his scar being self-inflicted I believe is BS, because there are no other signs of self-inflicted scars elsewhere.

 

5. Plankton (Spongebob Squarepants)

Now there's a guy who noone can't feel sorry for. He just doesn't know when to give up. His computer wife is very bossy and being an amoeba, goes through immense physical trauma when his plans go awry.

 

6. Team Rocket (Pokemon, The Animated Series)

Sort of like Plankton, the trio doesn't know when to give up. It seems the farther they go into the series, the worse their brain damage becomes, and consequently, the dumber and dumber their plans become. We're blasting off again!

 

7. Wizard of Oz (The Wizard of Oz)

Although he doesn't really classify as a villain, he is kind of intimidating. But its actually kind of sad, because he's just a sheepish old man who hides behind curtains. Perhaps it was time for him to abandon the old charade.

 

Now if these guys could just some take time out of their day to stop being so evil, and see the good side of life.

I believe that for The Dark Knight that Harvey Dent was more pitiable, as you actually see his decent into evil and grow connected to his good self, but i can see how Joker is pitiable

Suggestion:

Wheatley.

During when GLaDOS is in control,

despite being a complete moron he helps you the best he can.

He is your best friend during that part of the game,

He was a quite Funny and quirky throughout that part of the game,

I felt very sad when he went corrupt with power.

At the end, he gets sent to space for eternity, stuck with a core obsessed with space.

He even goes back to his good self,

saying that he would apologize if he could for being a "Monster".

SrFrog, I don't want to say this, but if the wiki is true you would need a miracle to reason with someone like that. Do you believe in peace? It is a hard question, to sit back and do nothing, or resort to violence. But with people like that it takes a mental marvel to come up with another solution.

Maybe you could go storming in with tranquilizer guns. But eventually they would just get up and keep on doing what they were doing. There are somethings on this Earth that we just can't change. For example, I try to warn people when they are about to step on ants. But I can't warn everyone, at all moments of the time. Humans are only human. There are some things about life that you just can't change, no matter how hard you try. If you want to save up for plane tickets and go to Africa I don't want to discourage you. I guess that's one way. You probably wouldn't make it though. That's an awful lot of terrain, and you're simply not used to those conditions.

 

Empires fade, evil things pass. It's important to lay the foundation so that they do not continuously respring up again.

Sweeney Todd. Not a big fan of Johnny Depp but since he did star in the most recent adaptation, might as well. Bit difficult to explain without giving much of the film away but just know that everything evil that the character did had a well established reason.

No I mean, the whole campaign was a scam. Only 33% of the donated money actually went to the cause. Kony has been missing for a very long time, before the video was even made. He's not even on the top of that list anymore if I remember correctly. Of the 33% of the money went to the Ugandan army which is/was arguably just as bad. The founder of the Kony 2012 thing was arrested for public masturbation and defacing property.

You arrest Kony essentially that whole operation falls apart

You can change *virtually* everything on this earth.

People go to Africa and make it just fine, you can get over most terrain with a car and it's not like Africa is 100% wilderness lol.

It doesn't matter what the conditions are, with the internet, anyone can adapt to anything within a week.

 

Self interest will exist forever and people will level mountains to satisfy it. Bad things will continue to pop up, there is no foundation you can place to prevent it.

Anyway, Mr. Freeze. Everything he does is for his dying wife. That's a villain that deserves some massive amounts of pity.

 

ETA: Also, Frankenstein's monster. Seriously, dude. His creator abandons him, no one likes him, people try to kill him. He hides in a house for months and gets the people to talk to him and like him. He was all happy and then when they saw him they packed up and bailed. His very existence was one of the worst forms of torture ever.

I was thinking of Mr. Freeze but I don't really consider him that much of a villian.

 

Kids with guns are nothing to trifle with, I don't really want to sound like a cynic. If you're serious about going to Africa you wouldn't let my precautions get in your way. And if his army consists of kids I am put off by your use of a question mark, since using a tranquilizer would make even more sense. It's just if arresting him were that easy someone could have done it already. And believing you can change "everything on Earth" is simply naive. You can change something but you have to abide by the laws of physics. You can't change everything. You even said yourself this "Bad things will continue you to pop up, there is no foundation you can place to prevent it." I'm not quite sure what you mean by "the internet will make you adapt in a week". What does that have to do with malaria and harsh temperatures? Sorry if my pessimism sounds directed towards you, but people like Kony get me in a bad mood. If you are actually serious about arresting him yourself you are a saint, because it will be extremely dangerous.

Yup, indeed heard of all of the fund misuse, the masturbation incident and the Ugandan army charges. It's just a bit enraging when people don't do a bit of research before hand and take a project such as kony 2012 to that point before informing themselves.

The dude grew up as a victim of war, lost his family before his eyes as a kid, lost his best friend shortly after, and was only trying to end war so that nobody had to suffer that way ever again. He may have had a 'the ends justify the means' way of going about doing that, but that's only because he saw no other way. He's a victim of the world. He is pain. Seriously the dude has some epic speeches that really make you wonder who are really the good guys and who are really the bad guys, when he monologue rants to Naruto in their fight.

Dr. Horrible (from Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog) is one of the few villains I actually feel bad for. He's not really evil, but circumstance and his environment force him to do bad things. Also, he accidentally kills the girl he loves which sucks.
