RWBY Thread

Hello one and all and thank you for visiting. I've created this thread with the purpose of talking of  a show that has captured my love and attention with it's story telling and lore.  That show is RWBY



What is RWBY?

The story takes place in the world of Remnant, which is filled with mysterious and malevolent creatures known as the "Creatures of Grimm." Prior to the events of the series, mankind waged a battle of survival against the Grimm before discovering the power of a mysterious element called Dust which allowed them to fight back against the monsters. In the present day, Dust is used to power abilities and weapons, while a more archaic use was weaving it into clothing. Those who use these abilities to battle the Grimm are known as Huntsmen or Huntresses.The series focuses on four girls, each with her own unique weapon and powers. Together, they form team RWBY ("ruby") at Beacon Academy in the city of Vale, where they are trained to become Huntresses alongside team JNPR ("juniper"), team SSSN ) "sun"), team CRDL ( "cardinal") team CFVY (Coffee), and various other named and unnamed student teams - Source Wikipedia

Like MLP each of the main cast come from varying walks of life and have their strengths and weaknesses that are explored over the volumes, also like MLP the world is rich and lore with alot to offer and think about.

I like RWBY, but I'm a bit annoyed at how they introduce new characters and concepts and then forget to develop them properly.

RWBY is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the greatest thing ever, or even the greatest Western take at the anime art style, but it's fun.

Also, what @Yamet said above. Yeah, there is an official World of Remnant companion series that expands on the main series' world building, but character development is sometimes lacking.

Oh. My favorite character is Yang.

I dont have any deep personal feelings about the show tbh. Its just a good show to watch

I can relate alot with Weiss and being lonely despite being surrounded by lots of people..

I love the show aswell for the fact that it's rich in detail..

Mostly the fact that she used to be the one in charge of the more violent White Fang.

 

I mean, sure, she's not as bad as Adam. But in my opinion, a woman who's a 4/10 isn't suddenly prettier overall if she's surrounded by 2s. Likewise, just because Adam has an even MORE extreme version of that philosophy, that doesn't make Sienna's any better. Just better by comparison.

I was disappointed she became a red shirt..it would have been interesting to see why she hated the humans beyond that of the Schnee Dust.co and their unethical treatment of them.

I'm sure she hated them for the same reasons as everyone else: General faunas racism from the majority of humanity.

Yes but if you remember aswell.

Ghira Belladonna was once the supreme leader of the TWF and tried to be benevolent with the humans..like most things the new radical ideals harmonized with the younger crowds (Blake) and the hand tipped to Adam and Sienna BUT..what exactly before the riots that spawned during the unethical practices of Faunas rights made them more aggressive? If I remember correctly the protests were peaceful til something kicked the nest..question is..what kicked it?

Fair point.

 

Altho, to play devil’s advocate for a sec, we really don’t need Khan herself, as in order for an idea to harmonize there would have to be some form of an agreement. So chances are that what sparked the idea of violence for Khan also sparked it for the rest. Khan was just lucky enough to say it first.

 

In essence, if no other reason, I dislike Sienna because, as the leader/starter of the new, more violent WF, she’s the symbol of the violent WF. And my distaste in her is a manifestation of my distaste in her philosophy.

 

PS: If my opinion of her philosophy is a “distaste”, then Adam is straight up projectile vomiting.
