Celestia vs Garnet

I’d say that Celestia would just call Twilight and have her make Spike eat Garnet. And anyways, Garnet can be split with a small electrical shock. And it cause her to lose her physical form. Thus why Spike would be able to eat her. Seems like a strange matchup.

The gem destabilizer isnt electricity. If it was, it wouldnt do to steven what it did in Jail Break, it would just paralyze and/or kill him

Let's be perfectly honest folks, Celestia kinda sucks at defending Equestria, pretty much every villain in the show has managed to utterly defeat her in one way or another.  Heck her magic was useless against the freaking Smooze of all things.  So it's not like Celestia is really strong or anything. (Even if she should be stronger than portrayed in canon) her incredibly poor track record is enough for me to vote for Garnet.  Plus Garnet is incredibly durable, high quality hand to hand combat skills perfected after hundreds of years, electrokinesis and electric resistance, super speed, future vision, and heat resistance (as she is able to swim in lava, and it has been confirmed that she has the ability to swim in the core of the sun and survive http://shikai-the-storyteller.tumblr.com/post/98609800488/does-garnet-use-that-little-pool-of-lava-in-the).  I don't really see Celestia winning.

Celestia is incredibly powerful, the show doesn't show it because it can't for plot reasons, but her experience with spells and magic ability is much more powerful than anything Garnet could face.

 

Celestia and Luna would be a better fight for the diamonds, not any of the Crystal Gems.

Future vision isn't perfect or exact, Celestia has more knowledge of spells and more raw ability than Twilight, who can freeze dozens of people at once.

Also, using Tempest's statement as an example, Celestia might have the power of 30+ armies, which is...countless amounts of ponies or storm guards or whatever.

Keyword is "might". She was taken out by The Smooze, so I doubt it. And of course future vision is exact. Remember when she played Meat Beat Mania?

She literally says that it just shows possible routes for the future. And the Smooze was anti magic, it wasn't more powerful or anything, it is literally resistant to all types of magic aside from Discord.

Ugh... how many things can possibly happen in a fight? left puch. right punch. head lock. magik beam. We've seen with Steven that Garnet can view at least 3 possible outcomes, maybe more, in less than a second. In a fight, future vision is VERY efficient.

If you are fighting someone with access to dozens of spells, with people who could fight at relativistic speeds, future vision won't always work. See, Jasper fight. Round 1.

Everything Celestia does is either for a test... or for her own amusement. I'm pretty sure if she wanted to... she could beat everybody. Let's say that she looses the power of the elements 1000 years ago. You're telling me... nothing happened within that timeline that needed her to defeat it... with as many villains there are in the small number of years twilight been saving the world? But... what if all of the villains were a test? We know for a fact that King Sombra was a test so don't say she would never do that when she's done it before.

I say Celestia has this if she is serious.

Via scaling alone Celestia could stomp Garnet objectively. 
There is a thing in fiction known as intentional statements that are used to clearly illustrate a point to an audience of how powerful a character is. The highest feat we have of Garnet statement wise was that she took on 3 battalions of homeworld soldiers without much difficulty and with Bismuth. That is like 900-2,400 soldiers. Statement from Tempest is claiming the princesses together would have the power of "100 armies" now that is a loose term, but while I believe she is referring to entire militaries like the U.S.A (because Equestria is meant to mirror the U.S.A) That would make Celestia in raw magic ability, like 30,000,000 soldiers. Which if you bring in scaling from other shows, would line up with her being powerful enough to move celestial bodies easily (it isn't just "her" magic, as other ponies can do it as well if they are powerful enough) Even if you low ball that to an average size of an army in medieval times, Celestia would be 15-30k soldiers, much much more than Garnet.

Than we have Celestia moving stars and moons with her magic, Garnet couldn't survive a full power beam with that kind of power. (the reason why Celestias beam vs Chrysalis was so tiny was just that of animation budget and time.) Then you go to official scaling websites such as vs which clearly show that Celestia is in a whole other league than Garnet.

As for the "everything is a test" Yeah, I would agree that NMM and Sombra were just testing, but Discord and Chrysalis were legitimately more powerful than Celestia. The Chrysalis we saw in the season 2 finale was her at her peak, she had the love of Shining Armor and Cadance, who embody the love of Equestria, they are literally the prince and princess of love. (Shining Armor doesn't have love powers but by default, he gets that title.) Celestia and Luna defeated Sombra and Tirek in the past. If you look at Tireks size when he was banished in the flashback, he is about the same size he is right before absorbing the mane 6. So more powerful than potentially hundreds of ponies and the only reason Celestia wasn't confident in her ability to defeat him was because Tirek had Discord as an ally.

Garnet stands literally 0 chance against Celestia from an objective scaling standpoint. A good fight for Garnet would be someone like Pharynx. Celestia would be better matched up with The Diamonds (maybe, their power is still very muddy)

The Tirek situation... look at it carefully. Twilight tells the princesses she felt unimportant right? Then Tirek shows up... Then Celestia says we need Discord. Discord shows up with a hint to the box then joins Tirek. Celestia decides to put all their magic in Twilight. Discord doesn't say anything until later. Tirek turns on Discord. Twilight fights Tirek. Tirek states friends for magic. Rainbow eyes. Discord gives her the key. Rainbow powers, a castle, and a purpose. Celestia not bothered by Discords betrayal at all. I might be rockin the tin foil hat but that is a hell of a lot of coincidences.
