Who would win in a fight in Disneys Robin Hood between Friar tuck and the Sheriff of Nottingham if they were to go at it?

Friar Tuck is the monk, right? I doubt he'd have much change to win against the sheriff.

He almost beat the Sheriff stupid in the movie, but the Sheriff’s cronies helped gang up on him.

One on one, Friar Tuck.

He did? Oh well, it's been a while since I watched it so I must have forgotten that scene.

Yeah the Sheriff stole from the church’s Poor Box, and Friar Tuck gave him a beating for it.

The Sheriff is that particular brand of coward that can only seem to fight when he thinks there won’t be any resistance. I’ll have to watch it again, but he seems to only actually fight characters that are less armed than him, or not armed at all. But even though he had a sword, he couldn’t do anything against Friar Tuck’s stick and righteous anger.

One of his buzzard minions had sneak up behind him and blind him with the hood of his robe before the Sheriff got the upper hand.

The Sheriff is big and burly but he's all show and no go. He lets his cronies do all the dirty work while he throws his weight around. Friar Tuck may be a bit out of shape but he can throw down when push comes to shove. My money is on the Friar.

Watching that scene again you think the Friar wins that fight if that bird doesn't intervene?

Watching the scene again he did have his stick sliced in half but he still was fighting hard. The Sheriff though only had height to his advantage. If they were the same size he would have been finished. Little John, Robin Hood and Lady Kluck all took him down earlier in the movie or Robin Hood again at the end.

Tuck would win because he has conviction on his side where the Sheriff is just Prince John's stooge. The Sheriff has no personal investment beyond his job title, and sends his lackeys to do most of his work anyway.

Very true.

The Sheriff, definitely. Prince John is the more entertaining character, but he’s a sniveling little noodle. The only talent he’s shown to have is tantrum throwing.

Meanwhile, while certainly not the best, The Sheriff does have strength and basic combat training at the very least.

He fought Robin Hood but lost and the same with Little John and lost. He fought Lady Kluck also and got flipped over. He was 0-3. Prince John got his sword knocked out of his hands by Robin Hood then backed away. Little John threatened him and he backed off. The Sheriff at least didn't back down.

Just because he was bested by several others, doesn’t mean EVERYONE can take him. There’s a reason he’s able to shove a lot of civilians around.

And like you yourself pointed out, to win a fight you have to at least show up. He may not win, but at least the Sheriff shows up. Meanwhile Prince John is likely hiding somewhere.

Yep Prince John was afraid. I forgot though Friar tuck was the only one that didn't beat the Sheriff so the Sheriff did win one fight. Heck even the captain crocodile was more of a fighter than Prince John.

Eh, I’m not sure I’d call the Sheriff and Friar’s fight a win for Sheriff. He was getting his butt kicked till one of the vultures blinded Friar Tuck.

I'm not positive Friar would have won. The Sheriff cut his stick in half and it seemed like the tide was turning. The Friar was still fighting hard though. What do you think?

Neither Prince John nor the Sheriff are what I'd call particularly menacing. But in a battle between the two, I'd go with the Sheriff. Prince John is just a craven worm and would likely run rather than fight. And the Sheriff wouldn't need to do much more than sit on him to claim his victory.

Prince John was the weakest or one of the weakest Villians of all time.
