While I do love me some nature and I do not really proactively work towards maintaining it, rather focus on not trying to destroy it, there are things people do I just cannot understand. The latest action coming from Greenpeace seems to confirm that.

While I can understand the reasons and intentions, they by no means justify the hazards and dangers the Greenpeace activists have put the population to. While the Germans seem to have traffic issues under control, it does not mean they are not at risk. The strips on the road are no longer visible, as said in article the road is slippery and dangerous for everyone and private property is being damaged as cars forced to drive on this round are being colorized against the will of their drivers.

If you asked me, this is not an action that will bring Greenpeace positive recognition they are seeking, but rather an act of pure vandalism to which, worst of all, Greenpeace openly confesses with pride in their eyes.

Stuff like this turns my stomach. Its thugs thinking that because they do not like something they have the right to cause damage to other people and property. This sort of thing makes me want a walled city that they can just be dropped off in and left to fend for themselves.Β

I myself am a total 'Nature Freak', but this seems way too far. There are other ways to protest. Some people just don't know how to do things in a manner that does not put the safety of others at risk. Why not just do a demostration walk with signs and speeches?

In all honesty, they had that banner laying down there. If they only wanted, they could have made many more of them and just covered the entire traffic circle inside area with them. Or even just plant them one next to other in a circular motion.

But I guess that would hurt the grass, wouldn't it?

There's just so many better, cheaper and SAFER ways of handling this.

Consider the environmental impacts of pouring 3,500 litres of paint onto the floor. Not only the initial chemicals from the paint, but all of the soaps and solvents needed to clean it off.

Environmental extremists can't see the forest for the trees sometimes.

Seems a bit like that castle in France that had big yellow rings painted all over it. Pointlessly vandalising a historic monument when there are many better ways to get a point across.

So many people on a crusade go forth with blinders as their starting equipment. They then add headphones to drown out all that counters their quest for what feels emotionally good with practical views and long termΒ analysisΒ
