What is a better Alternative to Youtube?

Recently, I've heard that Equestria Daily's Youtube page was permanently banned for reasons unknown, and they didn't even get a single strike.  So this leads me to believe that I may consider jumping ship from Youtube to an alternative site.  What do you all recommend at the moment?  My sights may be set for d.tube or Peertube.

An alternative to YouTube? That's........ kinda a hard one, as like many have already said on here, YouTube is like the mega-massive video site, it really has no noticeable competition simply due to the fact of how many more videos YouTube has when compared to those other sites. Not that you can't use those other sites and enjoy them, it's just that they don't have nearly as much content as YouTube does.

Twitch is one of the best alternatives to Youtube, I hear often. It's especially good if you're a video game streamer. I have gone on there occasionally and seem some pretty good results for gaming videos. Though it is true that nothing matches Youtube right now, something that we all know, it is likely something is going to come along and beat them before we know it. With the surge in popularity of mobile, something like this may very well do it...

Nothing that good really. I mean there are lots of terrible short form video apps particularly tik tok. And if u go on news sites they sometimes host their own content. Daily motion hosts some stuff. And vimeo has professional content. I often see people upload blocked content or mirror stuff on bit chute. And there is fb video and instagram tv. And yeah streamer sites too ofc.

LTT’s floatplane is really the only alternative I can think of. But that’s more of a Patreon replacement imo since it’s for supporting creators you already know of, not really watching random videos.

Well it depends on what you are looking for. For streams you can go to Twitch, for short videos you can go to TikTok and Facebook Reels, for music you can head over to Spotify, and for TV there's Peacock. But when it comes to watching videos, YouTube is the best place to go that I know of.

*totally not up to any shenanigans* :ithastolookpretty:

Hi @SaburoDaimando

I'm moving this thread over to "Media Discussion". Thanks. :)

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
