Ruby took the medicine and stretched a bit, she had left the saddlebags under the floor because she knew she didn't need them where they were going and didn't really have anything too important in them. "Then let's do it shall we?"

"It's been been a while since I've done something like this. Over 1000 years."

The old wyvern was walking out to show them where they needed to go, so Somnus began to follow him.

"Equestria has been at peace for a while. Whether or not that's a good thing, I don't know."

"But you have just fought these malformed lizards, so I don't see why that matters." Ruby pointed out rather coldly, she wasn't going to show emotion among these freaks of nature. She followed Somnus again not paying attention to the Wyvern's direction, and she limped her leg relatively little considering it was broken, she had already ripped the casts off.

After a while, they would end up with a large group of Equestrian guards and some wyverns part of the militia. Some of the guards would notice Ruby and Somnus. One guard who was operating one of the cannons, noticing that Ruby and Somnus were helping the militia asked something to another guard helping with the cannon.

"Can they do that?"

"There's no rule saying they can't."

"I have never done that, so we are even." Ruby pointed out.
Ruby just gave her usual unfriendly look to the guards and said to them "You better stop worrying about what I'm doing, it's none of your business, oh, and remember, when they fly, shoot in front of them, not at them."

Looking at all the guards, Somnus wasn't too happy.

"What kind of battle formation is that? You won't get anywhere being scattered around in an unorganized mess."

He pointed at a group of guards.

"Form a line in the front."

Somnus would continue this for a while until all the guards were in an organized formation. He looked at the ponies with the cannons.

"Keep the cannons pointed up and only fire at the enemies that are flying. The ones on the ground are easy targets for the other units and firing at them will only waste resources."

Once this was all figured out, all they had to do was wait for the signal from the older wyvern to attack.

"Now we wait."

Somnus waited for a little bit until a loud warhorn could be heard. That was the signal to attack. Not long after entering the city, fighting was everywhere. Wyverns from the bigger kingdom were falling from the sky after being shot by the cannons.

"Told you the worked."

There were deaths on both sides, but it seemed that the bigger kingdom had worse due to the numbers and formation.

Somnus looked over at Ruby.

"Let's get to their treasury, they can handle the fight from here."

She took off and just as she had predicted, bigger Wyverns that tried to attack her, she simply dodged and hit their wings, and smaller ones that managed to keep up, were quickly taken down by her extra pair of legs.

"Looks like I have an excuse to try out my new party trick."

Somnus would then turn into a darkish grey wyvern the size of Ruby. Seeing that one wyvern was offguard, Somnus took the opportunity to bite into his neck, which would be quite deadly.

"Seems my immortality didn't stop my strength and durability from increasing. Too bad my size doesn't increase though."

"You're really messing with my head you know that?" Ruby said before taking down her own slice of the defenders, the fact that she could sense Somnus's being old now that he was no longer hidden behind the ponyness, but could only see a Wyvern of her own size really messed with her senses. It wasn't too hard to take down the opposition, because having extra pair of legs were as useful inside that it was outside, but she didn't take any trophies, because it was too easy.

"Don't forget you have that same exact weakness." Ruby reminded as one of the guard Wyverns went for her throat, only to break their teeth and get slammed fatally by Ruby "That's one of the reasons why my kind took over the homelands."

The wyverns would be cleared out pretty easy until they made it to the treasury room. They would soon come face to face with a very large wyvern.

Somnus would go for the neck only for nothing to happen, but for him to get tossed into a wall.

"Did you really expect that to work?"

The wyvern went over to Somnus as he was laying there after being thrown into a wall.

"Not all wyverns work the same way. Some are simply stronger and more durable than others. You're weaker. You're prey, both of you."

Somnus got up and lunged at the wyvern only to get knocked back down. Somnus would keep attempting to fight, but he was out matched.

"Winning against someone who has under an hour of experience with his body isn't that impressive." she then started moving, but she didn't charge at the Wyvern, but went past it, staying out of its reach if possible, going behind it and attacking from there, and if it was to turn, she would just repeat the going behind it until she succeeded "I have dealt with bigger threats than you."

The wyvern was not discouraged. Despite the wings being broken, she push Ruby off and go after Somnus who turned back into a pony at the worst time possible.

Somnus flew upwards to stay out of reach of the wyvern.

"My spear is gone, it must've fell when I turned into a wyvern. Do you still have that horn that you took as a trophy?"

"I left it at the house, why would I bring trophies with me to a fight." Ruby replied before again making an attack in best way she could, it was clear this Wyvern enjoyed playing with its enemies, since she seemed to only move Ruby out rather than actually striking her, and Ruby tried to use that to her advantage, because she knew that even one wrong move from her part could end her life due her not being in full strength. She wanted to see if she could rip off a horn from the Wyvern (if she has any), but wouldn't do anything that would give her a chance to strike Ruby.

Some wyverns had horns while others did not. This one had no horns. Somnus suddenly had an idea.

"Hey wyvern, do you breathe fire or something else?"

"Ice. How about I show you?"

The wyvern opened her mouth to breathe ice, so Somnus took a few gems and dumped them into the wyverns mouth, which she would choke on.

Somnus looked at Ruby.

"I... didn't expect that to work."

Ruby hit the Wyvern with her claws as she was chocking to make sure she didn't survive it. "I told you she was being cocky." "Though I didn't expect her to be this stupid." she would have used her flames to fight the ice if Somnus hadn't done what he did. After the lizard was dead, Ruby reached in and took the gems out of her mouth, no point in wasting perfectly good gems.

"Yes, that is what I was promised." Ruby said "But unfortunately promises can be broken." "Just know I know exactly how much I'm owed, so don't bother trying to cheat me when the time comes." she started walking out of the treasury, annoyed by the crowd that was in there "Because if you know anything about my kind, you know we don't like those who try to take from us."
