Midnight Sparkle emerged from fear and anxiety, the magic influenced by the negative auras of the Crystal Prep students. Demon Sunset Shimmer came from the corruptive nature of just yearning for power. When I first saw Demon Sunset Shimmer, I kind of went, "PFFT!", because Sunset then was just a corny, over-the-top villain who wanted power. Alternate Twilight's character motivation was many times more believable and the aesthetic of her demon form is far less campy-looking too. 1 Merry Wishentine from Pipp Petals!
