First Attempt At Vectoring - Self Portrait?

Yeah. I did that on my first try. At first it was gonna be Vinyl Scratch vector, but then I saw how horribly I was doing it, so I changed it into a template to use to create my Mr. Cricket vector (my OC, if you didn't know). But then I realized I didn't know how to create a pony horn, so I got annoyed, punched a pillow, took a whiz, put on my headphones and two albums worth of some Thrash Metal later, this.

A self-portrait kind of thing. My only problem is that the skin/fur/WHATEVER color is too light to be my skin color (it was originally for Cricket, again) but I didn't bother with changing it because I've stopped caring at this point.

Be brutally honest, and any advice/criticism that you could give me would be great. I'd like to do this again, and hope to get better.

That's pretty good, infact its great! but it is at a lowish resolution and in JPG, JPG leaves artifacts everywhere while PNG does not (or there aren't as many) One of the major benefits of using vectors to make art is the ability to scale it up when it is in a raw vector format so leaving it at a low res defeats the purpose of that.

 

But yeah, I couldn't find too many errors with it, great work.

That's pretty good, infact its great! but it is at a lowish resolution and in JPG, JPG leaves artifacts everywhere while PNG does not (or there aren't as many) One of the major benefits of using vectors to make art is the ability to scale it up when it is in a raw vector format so leaving it at a low res defeats the purpose of that.

Hmmm....

 

With photoshop and scaling a lot of layers....I forget how it works....but... ignore that.

 

The easiest way for your image to be drawn at a higher resolution is to set it like that when you make a new file or document (4k x 4k is popular) so that way you don't get weird looking edges!
