Danny DeVito needs to come back to MLP

Ok, we gotta talk about this guy. in MLP, he voiced the Grundle King in the MLP movie, but has since been lacking in any involvement whatsoever in MLP. But with his role now, in the movie "Small Foot", and also making news headlines when a high school student took his cardboard cutout to her prom, only to be invited to LA, on the talk show "The Talk" to meet DeVito in the flesh- he's been in the spotlight a lot more these days, and certainly isn't letting old age slow him down.

 

So do you guys think that Hasbro could get him back on the pony side, for g5? (along with g1 VA Rhea Perlman, as well?)

The guy is always busy doing something. Acting is his life. If he's not being brilliant onscreen then he's being brilliant onstage. I'm not sure Hasbro would seek him out since the best child friendly role he's known for, that I can think of at least, was in Disney's Hercules. Hasbro is big but they're not the giant that is Disney, so even if they wanted DeVito, they might not be able to afford him. And it's not just a question of money but the significance of the role. It was to be something worthy of his time and that's only going to happen if he's given a good deal or if it allows him to contribute to something he believes in or deeply cares for.

Well, maybe? I mean, here's the thing - he is a huge success, the man is pretty much a legend, and a lot of actors who reach that point start taking on roles based on what they want to do, rather than what the paycheck is for - at least, assuming he's not a complete disaster with money. I mean heck, they got the Shat for the Perfect Pear, why not Danny?

Also, I changed my mind. I want to see him playing Cranky's grumpy brother.

If Hasbro is willing to fork over the money to acquire his services--I'm sure he doesn't come cheap--then by all means can he come aboard. Then again, Danny DeVito might not be interested in My Little Pony these days. It's hard to say whether this is true or not.

Maybe they were replaced by the diamond dogs then? Hasbro has mostly stayed away from anything that would come off as really monstrous looking other than the OG changeling designs so they could have gotten creative.
