How does the archive system work?

I've noticed some of my old art threads in Requestria were archived,

and I'd like to know how this system works,

Is it limited to requestria? How long does a thread have to be abandoned before it gets the Archive Hammer? ( Arrow? Blast? Fist?) 

Is there anyway I can still search them out? as the "Topics I've Started" Filter, no longer shows the threads

Requestria has always had a rule that threads that have no activity for a period of time are closed. The archive system automates this. If a topic receives no replies within a set time it becomes archived. This is to prevent bump requests on ancient topics. You are welcome to crate a new Request thread if this happens.  Search has already been hit and miss. There is nothing in the configuration that is blocking Archived posts from showing up in search results, but as with old topics it has always been hit and miss
