Weather is so hot I am on the coldbrew stuff ATM.  Try to get at least a french press in during the morning before the heat builds though :)

How do you like yours and how often do you drink it? :)

That's an excellent question, personally I have to say I really and I mean really love myself a nice double cappuccino with licorice I'd say if I had to pick a favorite that would definitely be in the top five a mocha is amazing and although I know it doesn't really count as coffee a swiss mocha is divine. Yet those are cafes I only get at shops haha sadly now with the corona not possible.

So what do I brew at home a cafe aui lait or milk coffee from a NES Nescafe machine I add a little milk to it gives you a little more latte taste I'd say. Which I like, if however no cafe au lait I will do a pour over coffee probably medium roast coffee I believe you see it is mixed haha but I can taste that it is medium not too strong so I'd say 16-20 grams be patient and you'll get a very strong coffee about a tablespoon of milk and it has a good mixture of a bitter black coffee but with the sweet milky flavour. I have managed to perfect the blend I believe at sixteen grams and simply try to have more milk in case you don't like black coffee.

When it comes to drinking it, I would say about three or four cups a day sometimes more though I try to have a rule of only four though.

What about you @Millennium Shadow?

I started drinking coffee last year. I would get a large with 2 creams from McDonald's during the weekends. I haven't drink coffee in a while, though.

I have some Kroger-brand instant coffee, but IDK if that would be any good.

Do you ever drink coffee to stay up late?

I'd say if you got started then try to drink a lot of variety of coffee find one you like haha. Good coffee though is really just about the taste so yes.

Not familiar with kroger but I feel like if you have instant coffee you need a lot of milk or cream haha. I am actually somewhat a fan of instant coffee though due to the fact of how easily you can brew some anywhere out in the wild or at home.

Would say I often do that yeah, I mean caffeine is six hours in your system so you have to be mindful of how long you are planning to stay awake haha. Though I do some of the time but prefer to keep a tight sleep schedule.

If you have a Starbucks close to you I recommend trying some lattes I have gotten people who were just getting into coffee to love coffee haha since they tried good coffee you know.

Pour over coffee? is that one of those cone things you put on top of a cup to make one cupful of filter-style coffee?

That's right if perfected it can be possibly the best coffee although of course you know it doesn't have the same concentration but it is all about trying to maximize it simply using this method. So yes you put a cone on a cup a filter then you get your coffee beans or rather the grinded ones. Try to keep it consistent you then heat water from a kettle and you try to do a circular motion around the cone as you try to aim for the highest concentration of it. Of course it takes time to perfect but results are a really good strong coffee very strong haha.

Each to their own preference I guess. I have tried most of the systems (filter machines with variable drip, perks, espresso, aeropress, cone filters and so forth) but found my preference was for the french press style, that way I can stir the coffee with a long-handled teaspoon until it reaches the strength I want, and push it down so I can pour.

Different coffees can suit different treatments though; I am currently enjoying a medium-to-dark roast of Monsooned Malabar, on a slightly too fine grind (which means I end up with more powder in the cup, but I find the finder grind gives more of the flavour; I avoid paper filters as they strip too many of the oils from the pour)

Oh do not get me wrong I love all coffee that's just one of many methods I enjoy perhaps I enjoy doing more then the taste something very relaxing taking your time with coffee however some of the best coffee I've had was a french press coffee simply delicious. I am wanting to get one but I have been thinking of what to get as you can get cheap ones too. Nice that sounds really nice I always do prefer the medium roast myself.

usually with the french press, it is all about the filter - you can go for a cheap one, just need to check they have a decent metal (never plastic!) filter with a fine grid, and a good seal between the filter and the glass so the grounds don't escape easily.

Supermarkets here carry them relatively cheaply (from £4 for a single-serving size (three cups? you must be kidding here) up to the family size at around £12) and if you find one you like, you can usually order more filters cheaply from amazon to extend its service lifetime. I find most of them have the same filters and same glass, and the outer (usually plastic) frame isn't really a concern - but I do find some have better assemblies at the fliter end than others. I look for one that can be assembled tightly, has a metal base plate and spring plate, and looks well cut (some look cheaply made, so I assume they are :D)

I don't bother investing in famous name brands like bodum for the french press, as there is no real benefit - although I refuse to even consider owning a different brand of grinder than dualit :)

Yo thanks for the pointers I appreciate it I've really wanting to get into a French press so I will now I just didn't want to go get like either so cheap it wouldn't taste good or to expensive. I'll be looking for some nice filters maybe amazon or when corona is done haha. Remember when I first had French press I couldn't believe it was actually made using that little thing haha. Was like what haha thinking it would taste I don't know like any other black coffee usually does with milk. I can not wait though to be able to go to coffee shops again haha.

Aeropress is a good choice if you want a strong shot of coffee, but tends to use a LOT of coffee per shot, and isn't cheap; every so often discount stores like Lidl get in low-end espresso machines for about as much as the aeropress costs.

Well.... In chocolate cakes, yes!

In coffee alone? Heh that is up for debate :awwthanks:

Its one of those debatable things I guess. I had a partner who didn't like the taste of coffee much, so I bought the swiss chocolate liqueur infused stuff for her :)

Yea, that's what you do, when someone don't agree with you. Slowly introduces 'it' into their lives until they are hooked. ;)

Works with Pony too :)

But more seriously, she asked; I was just making her Tea instead prior to that :)

Thee is also the issue of getting yellowed teeth when drinking too much coffee. Not only do you get hooked on coffee, but you also have to think about breath and teeth. I say, using coffee to get awake in the morning is not a good excuse, but I would accept people just saying "I like coffee because it is a unique taste I don't get anywhere else" :proud:

I'm not a fan of coffee, so it's not something I drink. Tea on the other hand, I drink a lot of it. It's the first thing I go for when I wake up.

Tea is good. I am not quite as fussy with tea as I am with coffee, but tend to have at least Ceylon, Assam and Darjeeling on hand, although often I can't be bothered to do it properly and just go with a Twinnings English Breakfast tea-bag :)
