Mystic rolled her eyes, she still thought it was either a trap or a prank, and in both cases she wouldn't be fooled, so instead of doing anything herself, she started searching the water with her shadows, and if they didn't find anything from nearby, they would reach deeper and further away until either their reach would end, or she would find Placidus, in witch case the shadows would wrap around him and bring him above water.

Placidus wasn't there. He would show up behind Mystic and attempt to scare her. Was he expecting it to work? Not really, but it was worth a try. Sure, scaring someone with the ability to make shadows would not the greatest idea, but he wanted to see what would happen.

Mystic didn't even flinch, since she had been expecting something like this "You do understand that if you were to succeed to scare me, you could get hurt pretty badly?" she sounded almost like she cared.

"Well, how would I know unless I tried?"

He knew it wasn't a great idea to try to scare her, he just didn't think he would succeed.

"Besides, I wasn't expecting it to actually work and I was right, it didn't!"

"You're a really weird one you know that?" "You fear tiny creatures that can do no harm but are perfectly fine with trying to scare a pony with the power to use shadows as weapons and  big bunch of trust issues."

"I knew it." Mystic said, hiding how she felt about it "I'm positively surprised that it took you this long to do something like this." "It's rather annoying when stallions try to hit on you when only thing they have said is hi, if even that." "Though like I said earlier, they lose their interest pretty quickly after my powers come up."

Placidus wasn't really sure what he should say. Was he hitting on her? He didn't know at this point. Sure, he thought Mystic was a pretty mare, but that didn't mean he was going to hit on her for that. And if he did like her that way, he wasn't sure how to go about it since he wasn't good at this sort of thing.

Placidus had no intention of going against or for her expectations. He did realize one thing though. Maybe he did like her. He wasn't sure how to say it though if even at all. He definitely didn't want her to think that's why he is so nice to her. He genuinely wanted to help her. He just so happened to develop feelings along the way.

"Oh, I see. Well, I guess you're better than most mares, though I don't exactly run into problems in the same ways that you do. No one really fearing except when giving shots, but that doesn't count. No one hitting on me, or anything else that may be annoying. I guess you're better in terms of actually being willing to talk to me."

He considered saying prettier, however, he didn't because he didn't know how she would react. Someone who paid enough attention could notice that he was thinking it though.

"Don't forget i originally came to talk to you because you had information I needed." Mystic reminded "I may be willing to spend time with you now, but that wasn't the original plan." though her tone was as usual, she sounded somehow like she tried to disprove Placidus's positive comment.

"I'm just happy I happened to leave when it was time for me leave. Imagine if I left in the middle of something important. It happens more than you think. Why do you think doctors take forever when the nurse says they will be there in a few minutes?"

Mystic just shrugged, she went to a doctor so rarely that she didn't know they usually took long. She opened her legs to point to the sides and started floating on the water on her back, though in reality she didn't actually float, and instead was hold up by her own shadows.

Mystic didn't reveal her reaction and just calmly looked at the sky like she had done since she started 'floating' "I see." she then finally said, again hiding any emotion she may have felt "Though I kinda guessed it from the hesitation." she was quiet for a moment "And though I won't say the same currently, I do have to admit that you are....more tolerable than I first assumed." though her act was good, it was clear she was acting, she didn't tell everything.

Placidus could see she was acting. He was still unsure if she liked him or not though, and if he asked, it was clear to him that she will probably keep acting. The best thing he could do was talk to her and wait for her to get more comfortable expressing her emotions, whatever they were.
