So I heard that this TV show had an outrageous finale that treated disrespectfully the main characters. Can somepony who saw it explain whatever happened there TLDR?

I wouldn't say it was disrespectful. Just a bit lazy.

The entire last episode of Enterprise is actually a holodeck simulation on the USS Enterprise D from Star Trek TNG. It was a filler rescue mission that transitioned into the founding of the United Federation of Planets, the actual event of which was never shown, despite how momentous it is. It was part filler, part flash back with some odd context.

Enterprise may not have been as well liked as the other shows, but it still deserved a more meaningful ending than that.

It deserved a better final season to be honest... In the first two seasons, it was a really good show and honestly I would have said debateably not far from the original series in quality. But after that it took a turn for the worse, and by the last season it was pretty terrible.

Even then, I'd still watch the finale of Enterprise over some of the worst episodes of Voyager... Seriously, Voyager sucks in comparison to most of the other series... Captain Janeway had a way of constantly p!$$ing me off with her idiocy and her hypocrisy. :unamused:

I couldn't get into Enterprise. It was effectively a retread. I knew how everything was gonna shape up, so I couldn't get invested in the how. Plus back then I thought it wasn't as cool going backwords with the setting and the tech and working our way up to all the cool stuff the series was known for.

Voyager was one of my favorites as a kid. But yeah, in hindsight it had it's issues. Especially Janeway. Just a poorly written, inconsistent character, only just barely saved by Kate Mulgrew's performance.

Can only wonder how much worse things would've been had Genevieve Bujold stayed on board.

I watched the pilot for Enterprise but then I always forgot when it was on and didn't watch it again until like season 3 when it got good. The finale was a slap in the face to the actors of the show as it pushed them aside just to have a Riker story.

Voyager had a great premise but the execution was botched between the hack writers and how it felt like TNG with the status quo returning between episodes. The ship could be crippled at the end of one episode and perfectly fine at the beginning of the next, AKA the magic reset button. The Year of Hell story could have been expanded over most of a season where the went on side missions to help pay to fix the ship. Instead, everything was reversed at the end. Garret Wong was pretty much crippled by the writers and directors giving him boring dialogue and being told to act wooden. Speaking of wooden, I saw the test footage of Bujold as Janeway. OMG, he was horrible! She showed zero emotion and acted like she didn't want to be there. Kate Mulgrew was way better in so many ways.

Yeah, I don't know why they didn't end with the founding of the Federation. Could have been great. Seasons one and two were great. Three went in a stupid direction then season four got back on track and made a lot of connections to other shows bu this holodeck episode was dumb.
