general Happy National Night Out 2019!

For those who don't know, National Night Out is where community block parties are held across the country, bringing the public together with police, fire, medical and military services. There's equipment demonstrations and exhibits, food stalls and carnival games, charity raffles and events, movie showings, car shows and all manner of fun stuff. It's like a community fair, only the cop cars, fire trucks, helicopters, K-9 unit and SWAT team are supposed to be there.

I've never heard of this before.  I wish I didn't have plans, otherwise I would go.

My neighborhood had one last year and the year before, but this year seemed to be absent. Every time it’s been held, I’ve had something planned the night of, which is really too bad, because I’d love to go to something like this.

They may have shifted it to October. Some states do that.

Not really my cup of tea. I have lots to do where I live and I lean more toward glitzy, artificial entertainment.
