You know, I would have loved it if Hasbro were to make a My Little Pony FIM movie, that takes place after episode Last Problem, where Queen Chrysalis does something similar to what Ommadon tried to do in Flight of Dragons, use magic to manipulate humans into starting WW3, but gets her plans thwarted somehow when they catch on to what she was doing. A cautionary tale about misuse of technology.

Is that a good episode? I never saw the series.

I'm just glad we have at least an image of what utopia could be like: Startrek and MLP. Granted we may never see it come into reality, but at least it's a hope. To put a lighter spin on all the dark post right now.

Equestria is not a utopia but it is the closest one we could see in fiction other than the Star Trek example you gave.

Humans are lucky we don't have fictional villains to deal with on top of the real life villains we have in power. It's as I said before, had Queen Chrysalis not been a fictional character and she attacked Earth without opposition, humans would be finished. She is a master infiltrator as shown in episode A Canterlot Wedding, who almost succeeded in defeating Mane Six and Royal Sisters. If she were to do that on a larger scale on the human world, humans would be defenseless. Chrysalis doesn't have tanks, bombs and jets, but what she does have is shapeshifting, all she would need to do is manipulate people into depleting their resources, grinding down their allies, human ignorance would do the work for her. Also, if she summoned windigoes, we're definitely cooked. So yeah, good thing we don't have to deal with her.

Don't need Chrysalis to do all those things. We're perfectly capable of doing them ourelves. Have been since time immemorial.

I'd say MLP is a utopia, least compared to our sorry societies. Only thing you have to fear is repeated attacks by a species hell bent on taking your love, and even THEY eventually give that up? (For the most part). I'd consider that a utopia. Sure there are existential threats every no an than, like in Startrek. But at least there the whole world, or at least Equistria, but even a unified nation is powerful. As strong and brave as my own nation of Canada is with our sovereignty under threat, still we are not all united.

We agree Equestria is a better world, they may not be as technology advanced as us, but what they do have better than us in the show, is social cohesion. They don't prevent all invasions but they manage to prevent more conflict than we do.

Social co-hesion is a big step to utopia. True we shouldn't be like the Borg in StarTrek, but at least TRY to look out for each other would be a huge step forward.

I hate myself for bringing this up with Snoopy Fan now, I feel like the negativity from my recent complaints about a spinoff he likes has hurt him, that was not my intention, but that is what I feel has happened. Now all I am wishing, is for that pain to be taken away, I did not want to bring his mood down, I really hope this does not affect his ability to sleep tonight.
