Toastypk 923 November 8, 2019 Share November 8, 2019 (edited) This is something I've wondered about, no surprise there, but I've actually seen some smattering of comments on Derpibooru and the like wondering about this too. I love that they brought the Pillars back together in the finale to fight Tirek, underpowered and defeated as they were. But I would have loved if they brought their friend and strategist with them, their other half, in a sense, after having come to appreciate him after so long. My guess is that 1, it was urgent, and 2, they wanted to keep him safe since he would be so screwed if they brought him, especially moreso since they got so trounced. (And would any strategic ideas have even helped against such a powerhouse?) Edited November 8, 2019 by Toastypk
Justin_Case001 4,903 November 8, 2019 Share November 8, 2019 Honestly, I think the real reason is that they forgot he existed.

Misty Shadow 7,941 November 8, 2019 Share November 8, 2019 Stygian is a scholarly type, he doesn't like to fight. In the past, the Pillars looked at him as more of an extra, but to assume good intentions, they probably just didn't want him to get hurt. 1 Comet's still best boi. <
FlareGun45 2,221 November 8, 2019 Share November 8, 2019 (edited) Yunno it's weird that Stygian keeps being compared to Starlight, when he's more similar to Spike. Why couldn't Spike be the one to reform him? On top of that, we didn't even get much on Spike's role within the Mane 7 other than Power Ponies which seems like a lame excuse. Honestly I kind of wished we see him interact with Spike too. And Luna as well.

For what it's worth, there is a lot of interaction between Luna and Stygian in one of the comic series. Nightmare Knights starts off with Luna and Stygian, and during what happens, Luna loses her powers to another world. Stygian helps recruit a team of former villains, Trixie, Capper, and Tempest, and the five of them go on a mission to get Luna's power back.
