animation YouTube cartoons suck.

Every cartoon on YouTube now is just dark parodies of cartoons you watched growing up.

"Dude, I took this kids' cartoon and put violence, swearing and sex in it! I'm so original and subversive!". Taking something for kids and putting violence, swearing and sex in it was played out when Robot Chicken did it back in 2005.

I also don't like how a cartoon's sole ambition is to put sex jokes and insults and shit; some do it in a clever way, but it's not a majority. But it has an audience, so it always works. I noticed some cartoons also play on the """quirky""" side of their universe to attract a certain audience; basically all show but no substance. (looking at a particular cartoon whose initials are HH )

Hazbin hotel litterally takes place in hell, you can't expect rainbows and butterflies from there, it's normal if that show is vulgar

Well I mean if you only watch parodies then parody is all you're gonna get. There's alot of wholesome content out there that's original (not that I've seen alot of it tbh), but also many cartoon parodies that aren't just grimdark/shock humor. 

C-students (original, tho it came out in 2014 so kinda dated) 

Pleasant Inn (David Romero has created more than a few short great original horror animations)

If you're more into intellectual vids as well that are meant to critique something then there's Darkmatter2525 (satire)

 

Even MLP has alot of NEW fan made content that is wholesome. 

 

 

(MARES vid is from 2016 but an episode comes out like every year) 

(Also Hazbin Hotel is pretty good but only one episode)

Indeedy, there are many good shows on YouTube, saying they are all bad just doesn't cut it. Also if a cartoon is dark or looks like a parody then who cares, a show is the authors intent, no one can deny ones passion and effort.

Anything post 2000 has the attitude of trolls, trolling for attention. I had to live on the internet after 2000, I can tell you stories!

 

However, Hazbin Hotel made an impact on me, and not for the swearing and non-censoring, and odd jokes, but.... The characters were cool looking Maybe I fell into the same trap of thinking Hazbin Hotel was different than the rest because it was standing by itself, against the system. But the franchise has been sold already, so it is probably included in that very system it was fighting.

I think they ment that HH clearly leans towards certain audience (including "fem" and "warriors" in their names). The main girl is creator herself, she's not-like-everyone and everyone around her are not that great and need to be improved

Otherwise it's a pretty good cartoon, I like the setting and characters

It's odd how someone managed to get that cartoon to become a thing. Youtube works very weird.
