I watched that show when I was extremely young. I miss it.

My dad has the show on DVD. If he has it on I'll watch it. It's a pretty good show.

I might not have seen the original anime episodes in full, though I really liked the 2008 live film adaptation! It was my very first movie stored on a Blu-ray Disc to add to my Home Video Library.

I later on noticed how much homage the 2008 film adaptation paid to the original anime series.

Not really a "fan" per se, but I did watch reruns of it when I was younger. And I know that Speed Racer does have its well-earned place in anime history.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch the Japanese version.
