Any Anime or Manga fans?

I thought I would create this topic because I got into anime and manga thanks to some friends. People can post recommendations and genres too.

not a huge one, but i do like a couple animes, ive been watching the dragon ball franchise all summer.

an anime i reccomend is madoka magica, it has like 12 episodes i think. its a magical girl anime, but its really intense and dark.

Funny how this topic got made soon after I returned to watching Hunter X Hunter.  I like anime and manga, especially manga. I'm always up for reading some Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, I jump right onto reading anything by Junji Ito, and I'm almost fully caught up with Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun. I also really want to read more of Dr. Stone and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Si, although I haven't watched a ton lately. I've watched a lot of the Shounen shows (Naruto, DBZ), JoJo, Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain. With Evangelion being my favorite all time no question.
Would highly recommend it if you like character driven stories.

Perfect Blue is also really good and is a standalone movie so it's super easy to just pick up and watch. And the Studio Ghibli movies as well. Spirited Away is my personal favorite from them, that movie has so much personality and it's so cute.

I love manga and anime!

I've been drawing manga as a hobby for the past couple of decades and intend to try and go professional very soon, depending on how well a current project of mine works out. I also do a lot of general anime/manga style artwork for fun and also for my work.

As a fan though, I'm always reading manga online and also love collecting physical copies of certain series. The same with anime.

Probably too many series that I love to bits to even make a list right now.

Those all sound really cool! I was gonna start reading the Re:Zero Manga.

They sound good. I have been watching Re:Zero recently. I found a Studio Ghibli Movie thanks to a song based on it.

Sounds cool. I'm not sure how professional manga releases outside of Asia work lol

I've been watching a lot of stuff recently.

Yes, I like anime. How did you know? 

Also, I am not a big manga reader. I am more tempted to read it if the series is one I really love AND the manga ends up playing out very differently than the anime. Otherwise, if the anime is very similar, I am okay with learning what I missed through posted notes and summaries.

No real different from those that have their work released within Asia. Some Japanese publishing companies do accept submissions for consideration from creators and creative teams from outside of Japan. Also, there have been certain international manga contests that have provided opportunities for creators.

Anyways. Thought I'd provide a short list of anime that got me interested in it in the first place. Really old school stuff that I used to watch after midnight on the Sci-Fi channel way back during my teens.

• Macross
• Akira
• Shadow Skill

I enjoy them as much as I enjoy animation and comics in general yes.

Though I prefer the series up to the end of the Diamond and Pearl era (have Kanto through Johto on DVD), I do enjoy watching Pokémon.  Looking forward to the dub with the new cast.

Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade make for some fun guilty pleasures, especially since both are legally available to stream for free.

Occasionally keep up with Dragon Ball.

Have a couple Speed Racer DVD.  Definite fan of Clannad and Clannad After Story.  Also Little Witch Academia and A Silent Voice.

Anyway, if the thread is still going on, I'll post the manga stuff later.  Possibly even the pics.

I did hear that Japan doesn't like very much outside involvement. Specifically Western Culture. Those look cool.

And yeah, if anyone is subscribed to Netflix or gets Japanese DVDs, I recommended Little Witch Academia, especially if you enjoyed The Owl House.

I mean two characters at some part arguably have a Pre-Lumity subtext to their relationship.  It's actually comparisons to it early 2020 that got me into watching The Owl House.

Additionally another source of free legal viewing is that Capcom USA has recently uploaded all of the Mega Man NT Warrior dub on their YouTube channel.

Also the few pics I have from my DA account with anime DVDs in them and even some VHS tapes.  As a bonus, all of my Super Sentai DVDs:
