Besides @Oleks, I wonder if anyone who is a MLP fan have seen The Karate Kid movies and Cobra Kai. 

Cobra Kai never dies! :-) 

Btw, you should probably put one of those hashbrown things like hashbrown "My Little Pony" or hashbrown "AppleDash" or something like that. AND THEN SEND IT TO THE INTERNET! (/joke)

I saw the original film and gotta be honest was not a fan. 

Definitely do not like that. 

My mom persuaded me to sit throught the first episode of Kobra Kai and yea.....exact same feelings.

I was never into the original Karate Kid movies, but I love Cobra Kai. It's so much fun and really engrossing. I'm glad they're in their third season now, with a fourth on the way. I can identify with the '80s kid out of water feeling of the Johnny Lawrence character. (Even though I'm a '90s kid by accident of fate).

I do like the original film, one of the true classics of the 80s.  I haven't seen either of the two direct sequels in a very long time, neither of them quite managed to recreate what the original had, and I haven't seen 'The Next Karate Kid' at all.  The remake with Jackie Chan and Jayden Smith was not terrible, but wasn't a patch on the original.

That takes us up to Cobra Kai, which I have watched and enjoyed immensely.  I think the people that made this series deserve a huge amount of credit for being able to take a film from over thirty years ago and make a spin-off that successfully integrates the original cast with a newer generation of younger characters in a way that both respects the original characters and continues their story and still manages to make plenty of room for the newer characters to have their own place in the story too.
