I'll only put you and your daughter in front of me against sharp silver blades of swords and rain of arrows, but I have nowhere to run and I'm on an island, let alone I'm an excellent swimmer” she looked at them “For now, I will accept the offer”

Ripple would smile "I wouldn't worry too much about me dear" she'd say "I may not look it, but I know how to fight, my late husband taught me" she would say "And as for those insurgents, if they do come back, they will regret it" she smiles and hugs her again "Also, I'm almost done with this dig, just waiting for my manager to arrive, then we'll be heading home, where you'll be well looked after"

“Thank you for your utmost kindess” Totum thanked politely, bowing her head, “I will do anything to make my stay helpful for you and your little filly” her mind was finally in peace, not having to worry much about the insurgents despite she still needs to be on guard. She wore her dress again, though a few parts of the clothing have a few damages.

Ripple would smile at her, "You're welcome ,and if you insist on helping, perhaps you could help look after Lilac. She's usually well behaved, but I can't always watch her every second of the day" she would say "You could earn your keep that way if you wish"

“Thank you” Totum looks at Lilac, “You heard that little filly? I can be your friend while I'm staying with you and your mom” if Lilac is happy, Totum is much more in joy to stay with them. Besides, staying inside a residence is not often visited by random strangers.

Lilac smiled up at her and nods "Yay! I don't have many friends, so we can be best friends!" she exclaims happily and hugs her, "Wanna see my drawings?" she'd ask her, flittering about.

Totum smiled “Sure. It had been long since I have been introduced to somepony's drawing so why not take the chance? I'll follow you” Totum was ready for Lilac to lead her to wherever she stored her drawing.

Lilac giggles and leads her to her room, it was a typical filly's room, full of plush animals, a double size bed and a desk. She gets out her sketch books and shows her pictures of animals she's drawn

Totum was led to what is obviously a filly's room, full of animal plushies, a bed, and a desk. She watches as the filly grab a notebook from the desk and approaching her before showing her beautiful artworks. While may a few look like simple drawings which is a common results for young foals, some looks very detailed, which made the alicorn smile.

“These are very nice drawings. Who thought you this, your mom?”

Lilac smiles and nods "Yep, Daddy did too before...before he died" she would say "Mommy knows drawing helps me to be happy, so she always buys me new books and pencils" she'd say, but then smiles "I like animals a lot"

Totum smiled “I also liked animals” she lied, of course just to go with the flow and have fun and good time with the filly, even if she doesn't like animals at all “What animal do you like? Giraffe, dog, cat, fox?”

Lilac giggled "Oh I love foxes and ferrets" she'd say "Mommy says that if I'm a good girl, when we get home, she might get me a pet" she'd tell Totum. She would look up at the mare "You know, I think mommy likes you"

Totum was slightly taken back by the last sentence Lilac said, but immediately recovered “I think she does, Lilac” she decided to push the subject back to animals “I like foxes too. They are majestic hunters of the wild”

Lilac would nod "Foxes are so cute and soft, back home we have some that live in our garden, I like to play and cuddle with them" she would say "I wanted to have them in my room, but my mommy says they might not like it"

“Maybe someday she would allow you to keep a fox as a friend. In fact, I think I might met a few foxes during my 'adventure', but most of them act aggressively at me" Totum explained, “But if I manage to get a house, maybe I can go fox-hunting and brought one with me, then you and your mom just have to go to my place and you can play with the fox”

"Oh I would love that Miss Totum" Lilac would say happily. Just then Ripple would look in "Miss Totum, are you hungry?" she would ask her "I'm just about to get Lilac some milk and cookies"

Totum giggled softly to herself when Lilac happily agreed with her. She heard the door behind her open, and heard Ripple asking her if she's hungry. The thought of finally able to drink milk and eat cookies after a long time of persecution made her smile “Yeah, I'm a bit hungry. I haven't got any decent food since the rebels began their search for me”

"Alright dear, milk and cookies for the both of you" she would say, as she would go into the kitchen and soon returning with two glasses of milk and a tray of fresh cookies "Here you two go, hope you enjoy". Lilac smiles "Thank you mama"

“Thank you, Ripple” Totum would take tray by her mouth, and set them down on the floor. She let Lilac get a cookie before getting one. She threw the cookie into her mouth, letting out a moan of satisfaction.

"Miss Totum, is there anything you would like for dinner?" Ripple would ask her, "I'm sure I can make it for you" she'd say, smiling as she watched the two draw.

Lilac looked to her, scooting a bit closer to Totum before beginning to draw again

“I think I can go for anything, except potatoes. I'm allergic to them” Totum replied before looking at Lilac, watching her draw. Genuinely curious, she asked the filly “What are you drawing?"

"Anything but potatoes, on it" she'd say as she went back to the kitchen. Lilac looked up to her and smiled "I'm drawing the three of us at your house with some foxes playing" she'd explain to Totum.

Totum was about to tell Lilac she doesn't own a house, yet decided to keep quiet about it. She watched the filly draw with peace and silent joy.

Totum went to the draw and took a paper and a box of crayons went back to Lilac. Going back go the filly, she put down paper and began sketching green field “Have you ever made a landscape drawing, Lilac?"
