Starstream silently stared at Silver Boulder for a while, not sure how to respond to his bad pun.

Couldn't help but laugh from the pun so he turned to Starstream, noticing him stare, "Hehe...yeah, I'll never do that again" with that his magic horn glowed, lifting up a snowcone as he started to eat, "Mmm...nice to have something like this in the summer time"

Starstream also took one of the cones. He carefully inspected it before cautiously taking a lick.

 

"Hmm... yeah... nice..." he said rather apathetically.

[Ice Storm 1,020]

Ice Smiled when everypony said that they wanted a snow cone. It was time to show off a bit of her magic. She took just some of the common water and through her magic started spinning the water in the air until it froze onto a perfect powdery snow, she mixed the flavoring in it while it was in the air and dispersed it amongst the the cones making sure that there was enough for everypony and passed them out. "I'm glad everypony enjoys them! My goal is to ultimately open a shop here in town where I sell these and other frozen treats, as well as Ice Sculptures. Pretty much if it involved Ice I can do anything with it," she said with a smile.

"This is delicious!" Exclaimed Twilight as she ate her snowcone.

"Ice when you open a shop let me know so i can get some more! This is the perfect treat to eat while reading." Said Twilight happily.

The day wasn't even half over and already was Tequila exhausted. One of her best employees had called in sick that morning and the gray mare had to work at double the speed and also double her efforts to get everything done and serve her customers. Luckily it was early in the afternoon and things had slowed down. There was enough time for Tequila to take a lunch break. "Are you sure you will be okay?" she asked the other stallion who was present and tending to the bar. "Go ahead, I'll be fine! You need a break! Go!" he said while making a shooing gesture with his left hoof. "Oh whatever! I'm going, I'm going!" Tequila sighed and paused a moment before leaving the drinking establishment.

 

She focused on what there was to eat in the area. Stomach grumbling, the equine couldn't decide on a meal. She began to panic a little while also stressing out about her place of work, wondering if something could go horribly wrong, or if her staff would get overwhelmed. Trying to forget about her stress, Tequila decided on a cozy little sandwich place that was near Starstream's abode. While feasting upon her succulent daisy and carnation salad, she perked up her ears after hearing strange noises coming from the stallion's residence. "My, someone is making quite a ruckus in there!" she said to herself while half paying attention to the house and continuing her meal.

Starstream cringed, seeing the crude way in which Ice Storm shaped the snow. He walked up to her.

"Umm, I think I've had enough," he said as he gave his cone back to her.

The flavoring was quite nice. A nice mix of berry flavors as well as lemon for some. His eyes lit up, enjoying the snow cones immensely. "Wow! Very nice" looking towards Starstream Silver quickly eyed to his, "I'll take it if you don't want it!" he said quickly while darting towards him but saw him give it to Ice, "Aww...heh, say you alright?"

"Thank you, i have to say frozen treats are my favorite." Sky smiled

Starstream turned to face Silver. "Oh, I'm fine mister Boulder, buuut..." He turned back to Ice thinking of how to phrase his next words without sounding snobby. "...Frankly miss Storm, your "method" of creating this ice is rough and unrefined and as a result the snow itself is... is... well, flawed, honestly. It's texture is jagged, it's temperature is not low enough and the overall taste is just not perfect!" He took a deep breath, waiting for the unicorn's response.

Sky was about to make a remark on how Starstream knows his shit but he decided for the sake of not to offend anyone he would just be quiet and wait for ices response.

His eyes suddenly shrank to see how specific Starstream was on the ice. With that in mind Silver just walked up to Star and looked to him, "...wow, that was...quite a mouthful! why not make some? I'm sure you can make some good snowcones!"

[Ice Storm 1,020]

Ice looked at this pegasus that had questioned her method of making the snow cones. Ice narrowed her eyes as he spoke. "Oh really, well I'm sorry, that it's not to your liking. I was refined on my methods by one of the best ice mages in Canterlot, and he's told me otherwise on several occasions. As far as flavors go, it is a flavoring from Canterlot. I must honestly agree that they are not worth the prices that they charge for them. They are hardly sweet enough to make a decent snow cone, so if you know who would carry better flavorings that have a much sweeter tone to them, I would very much appreciate the point in the right direction.

 

I will admit though, Ponyville is at a much lower altitude than Canterlot was, so perhaps it would require some additional refining in order to get the humidity difference as well as the over all temperature difference correct. When it comes to the manipulation of Ice however, there's nothing I can't do with it. At the down side with that though, I knew very little other magics. just basic telekinesis and I can only teleport maybe twice before I get completely winded. If you can do this so much better, perhaps you could give me some advice on how to adjust for the massive change in temperatures and altitude here," she finished both defending herself and acklodging that there were differences that she hadn't thought of before that could have affected the quality of the snow. She knew for a fact that there was never a problem with the snow in Canterlot, so the only thing that it could be was the minor differences in atmosphere.

Sky could begin to feel the tension in the room. "Well I have to say the snow cones that you have made are perfect and they are some the best I have ever had" Sky said trying to prevent a argument.

[Starstream 182]

Starstream looked at Sky and rolled his eyes. "Well, they're not terrible, I guess..."

 

"As for advice... Don't rush. Snow is delicate, so you have to make sure the flakes are the right size." He turned the cone he had given back to Ice to display that the side which he had licked was already melting. "Make them too small and this happens... but... make them too big and you're practically creating ice cubes when they inevitably melt onto each other."

 

He raised his voice and spoke as if giving a military drill.

"Take your time!"

"Be precise!"

"Check, double check, triple check, and check again!"

 

"Do I make myself clear foals!?"

"...Practice makes perfect I guess" he said and noticed how Starstream was all of a sudden shouting. All he needed now was the hat and he'd be set!

 

Looking to Ice and hearing the backup statement she used, Silver agreed with her and came closer, nodding, "Well, at least you know a lot more then me when it comes to magic. I barely remember any spell with the exception of telekinesis...and that's incredibly easy to do!" indeed his magic skills aren't up to par with everyone else in the room and especially not up to par with Twilight and her magic

Sky was so startled by Starstreams shouting he jumped and banged his head on the ceiling His vision then began to get blurred and he passed out.

"Mister Sky!"

 

Starstream galloped up to the unfortunate colt. "Mister Sky, I'm so sorry!" he apologized as he lifted Sky to a sitting position. "I'm so, so sorry, I got carried away, are you okay?"

Ice took in what Silverstream had to say. So you weren't supposed to freeze it down to the molecular level like her instructor had told her. Or at least not here. She made a note of that for when she opened her shop. She was about to respond to his drill tone however when the blue pegasus collapsed next to them causing Silverstream to panic. Ice looked around for anyway that she could help, not wanting to make another negative impression. Unfortunately this wasn't one of the situations where ice was the best solution. It was the most versatile magic yes, but it had it's limits of what it could do medically. She gave in, "Twilight, is there anything that you can do? this is the one time where all of my magic is useless."
