The relationship between Chrysalis and Ocellus

Has anyone noticed that Chrysalis and Ocellus have NEVER interacted on the show once? The closest we got was Ocellus having the form of Chrysalis in the episode "What Lies Beneath" cause of the fear of becoming her.

That's interesting actually, cause why didn't Ocellus just fear of becoming her old changeling self that we never saw? Why specifically Chrysalis? Normally, the only time a young individual fears of becoming someone, like their parent, or sibling, or close friend, or any type of mentor figure, is because they were close to them, at least at one point. Were they? Did they actually have some kinda close bond we never knew about? Something like, Chrysalis saw potential in Ocellus to become her successor, so they got close, and Chrysalis taught her alot of what she knew? But then that all got ruined after Starlight interfered, and Thorax become the new leader. Then Thorax specifically chose Ocellus to go to the School of Friendship.

Makes me wonder if Ocellus had a huge backstory we never knew about.

I've always thought this. Yes, Ocellus has fears of going back, since she turned into Chrysalis in that one episode. However, I think that if a Chrysalis redemption were to happen, I'd say that Ocellus would be the golden key to Chrysalis's heart. This is because she has deeply studied friendship and not only that, she's also overcome the fear of going back to the hateful state that changelings once were.

Your insight has presented me with this conclusion: The reason why Chrysalis rejected the redemption with Starlight was because she was scared of letting go. She had a huge kingdom and it was all taken away from her. With that, more anger and more hate bloomed in her heart, which is why she flew off. I feel that Ocellus and Chrysalis could have a relationship due to the fact that Ocellus has "lived it" to a certain degree, because she lived through the fear of not being able to truly "change". If you see yourself as "evil" the fear of becoming evil will soon flourish. However, if you see yourself as "good" and harvest the goodness within you, that's embracing the change. So yes, I do think that Ocellus and Chrysalis could form a relationship, with Ocellus "guiding" Chrysalis on how to use the love within her as strength to help her let go of the anger, let go of the pain and suffering. It won't be easy, that's for sure.
