Director/Producer Richard Donner, whose credits include Superman: The Movie (1978), The Omen (1976), the Lethal Weapon Films, and The Goonies (1985), has passed away at the age of 91.

That's one hell of a portfolio, The Goonies, the Lethal Weapons, the first Superman movie. RIP you Legend

He made us believe a man could fly and practically grandfathered the Superhero movie genre as we know it.

And to think that he appeared in a podcast reunion of most of the Goonies cast along with Cyndi Lauper last year where he looked pretty healthy for a guy his age. I heard about this last night and it's a shame that he's left this world, but his legacy will never be forgotten as it will withstand the test of time.

His wife, Laura Shuler Donner also produced the X-Men films. So in many ways, his legacy lives on.

What an impressive resume! He can rest peacefully knowing he contributed so much great entertainment. Superman (1978) remains my favorite super hero movie ever, and his work consistently demonstrated care and attention to his work. Thank you, Richard. God bless you.

Without Superman, we probably wouldn't have the superhero movie genre as we know it today.
