"Sounds good to me," He said as he walked next door for his tools, once Decan had gotten his tools he flew up to the roof of the tavern and looked around for broken shingles, After looking for about five minutes he found the cracked shingle and started prying it away from the roof, once it was off he pulled out an extra from his tool box and began to nail it down.

(I'm just gonna pretend Ruby got some errands to do)

 

After getting back from her errands, Ruby quickly walked over to her own room to leave some books. A wandering salesman had gotten some few rarities when it comes to books, and she was very happy about them. "It sure will be some good reading time tonight!" Ruby thought happily for herself. She placed the newly bought books on top of the ever so huge book pile, and then walked out of her room again. She went down to the storeroom, she had noticed later that she had accidentally broken some of the plates when she fell yesterday and had went out to buy some new ones.

 

When the task with the plates was finished, she took a deep breath and walked outside to look up to the roof. She had seen Duncan working on the broken part of the roof when she came back to the tavern, and had decided to see if she could help him. Spreading her wings, she proceeded to fly up to the roof. Half flying, half standing on the edge of the roof she asked Duncan "Um... D-do you want help with anything?"

"Hello there, Sure I would love some help, in my tool box there's a small shingle that should probably fit next to this one, He said as he hammered in another nail, "and my name is Decan not Duncan Hahaha, Whats your name?" asked Decan smiling at the young Pegasus.

"O-oh I'm sorry, Decan, must have heard it wrong..." Ruby flew over to the toolbox and grabbed the shingle Decan mentioned. "Here you go. A-and my name is Faint Ruby, but you can just call me Ruby."

Thank you Ruby," Said Decan taking the last shingle. "And You are MaryAnnes...sister ? He asked fitting the shingle into the empty space on the roof.

"You're welcome" Ruby replied and went back to half flying, half standing by the roof. "She is actually my aunt, I help her out with the tavern until I can open a store of my own."

MaryAnne began making lunch for all the ponys. "Go easy on him Storm!" she shouted and then said to Ruby and Decan, "Can you go to the market Ruby? I have an extra extra long shopping list sitting on the counter.Oh, and Decan. How is it going?"

"I can see the family resemblance, What kind of store are you going to open ?" Decan asked glancing up at Ruby, then MaryAnne's voice called up from the tavern,"Im just finishing up right now." he yelled back down, "Ruby before you go can you pass me one of the nails in the little jar ?" He said as he adjusted the shingle.

"My dream is to open a book store of some sort, I would love to spread the liking of books to ponies all around" Ruby answered, smiling a bit to herself while thinking about her dream. She then also heard MaryAnne's request, answering with a "Of course, I'll be right at it". Before she went though, she gave Decan one of the nails that he had asked for. "Good luck with the roof and all" Ruby then said to Decan, and went to help MaryAnne with the shopping.

"Okay Ruby, the list is right there, also can you get the new tablecloths from the seamstress? They are already done you just need to pick them up and pay her." She slid over a large bag of bits. "Don't lose it. Those are for grocerys and the tablecloths. Then you can buy yourself something special with some of the change. Okay?"

"Got it, I'll be right back" Ruby took the list and went towards the door, reading through the list to make her remember it.

MaryAnne finished up with cooking and dished up four plates. She used her horn to levitate two towards the lovebirds. She then yelled to Decan 'Lunch is ready when you are finished." She grabbed her plate and one of Rubys books and retreated into a corner for her break.

Ruby walked towards the different destinations the list required to buy the things MaryAnne needed, it included everything from vegetables to new mugs. Even though the list was long, she managed to find most of it rather quickly. When finished the errands needed from the marketplace, Ruby decided she could go past the seamstress, since it was on the way to the other things on the list.

 

When arriving at the seamstresses house, she carefully opened the door and walked in.

Decan put all his tools into his tool box and flew down into the tavern. when he got inside Decan looked at MaryAnne and said " Your roof shall leak no more," then he picked up his food and sat down at one of the tables.

"You're not gonna have lunch today?" she asked as only two plates landed on the table, trying to put her best puppy eyes on display. "Pretty please!". She was aware Marianne had probably things to do, but she enjoyed her pressence and loved chatting with her when she was at the inn.

 

After all, MArianne was the only reason she went to the inn. Marianne was a good friend to her and had excellent cooking skills she totally lacked.

Lockhart laughed "If you like shy guys, you won't like me too much." Lockhart said. "My ego isn't that big, is it?" Lockhart smiled innocently.

Storm pulled the two plates with lunch over to her end of the table and said "Hey! Didn't you want too sit beside me?". She smiled teasingly "Or are you too shy now?"

Lockhart walked over and sat down. "I'm not shy" Lockhart said grinning "my ego's too big for that"

Storm Cloud started eating a bit of the salad "Wow! This is great Marianne". As Lockhart had taken a seat close to her she leaned in until her head rested on his side and wrapped a wing around him.

 

"How does it feel?" she asked, a sudden level of honesty flooding her voice. She hadn't received any reaction from the colt she was now nearly sitting on and started wondering if he was like that because of his job or had been born with a heart made of stone. The curiosity replacing any kind of joke in her mind.

"...pretty good..." Lockhart said. He wrapped his arm round. "By the way, it was my life that made me like this. I can tell what you're thinking."

Twinkie Pie saw the tailor shop doors open. "Hello." she said.

"H-hello, I'm here to get the tablecloths for MaryAnne" Ruby said, slightly getting into her shy-mode again.

"Okay, I'll get them, I know where they are." Twinkie Pie went into her workroom. When she came out, she was carrying the tablecloths on one of her front hooves.

Such a tough guy and so fragile feelings she totally forgot to tease and compete against Lockhart, and suddenly felt the urge to tell him everything would be alright. But she bit it down, that would be pretty inappropriate now.

 

She took a bite of her bread and snuggled into Lockhart's incoming embrace, after enjoying some nearly silent seconds she used to munch on her meal she asked "Who was the guy with the papers before?" and looked up into the colt's red eyes.
