Had anyone discover a show/series at its middle but scoffed at it, and only gave it a chance and then fell in love with it, when it was near its end?

I first experienced this with MLP FIM, and I wonder if there were people who experienced the same with other series.

Well, now that I experienced it early in life with something that was insanely popular, I think I have a good idea what to look out for in the future.

i used to hate anime because i'd had bad experiences with people who had anime profile pictures, but then one day i was just like "i'm gonna watch an anime as a joke" and then suddenly

Gravity Falls was sort of like that for me. For the longest time I was basically one of those "all new cartoons are bad!!" kind of hipsters and I was also kind of annoyed with some fans of it putting down FiM early on so I refused to give it a chance for the longest time. Then I eventually got really into it... one year before the show ended lol.

Steven Universe is a similar boat for me. It was fairly early on when I got into that (I think the first season had only *just* ended), but again, I was one of those "all new cartoons are bad!!" kind of hipsters and the advertisements and stuff made me feel like it looked dumb so I didn't really give it a chance. I tried to watch a couple random episodes when it started to reach it's peak of popularity, still didn't care for it, but then became more engaged with the series when watching it from the start - the appeal finally just "clicked" for me. And considering how it influenced my writing and art style, I'm really glad it did.
