Even if there is some loopholes to minors under supervision of an adult. That may only apply to 15 year olds i think. Such as Wisconsin laws around it.

"This section applies only to a person under 18 years of age who possesses or is armed with a rifle or a shotgun if the person is in violation of s. 941.28 or is not in compliance with ss. 29.304 and 29.593."[9] Statute 29.304(3)(b) states: "No person 14 years of age or older but under 16 years of age may have in his or her possession or control any firearm" with added exceptions listed.[10] Children over 12 and under 16 are allowed to use rifles and shotguns under very limited, supervised situations"

Doesn't the game take place after the apocalypse? In that case I'm pretty sure nobody cares about most of the laws that existed before the catastrophic event, just like, say, in Fallout, Metro or other similar games.

There still is authorities there. And besides, tribe of adults still has some rules to follow. I would never be comfortable with the ideas of kids with guns in same way with alcohol or driving

Normally, sure, but when the place you live in is infested by zombies and criminals giving a gun to a 16 year old may be a good idea. Beside, it's not like 15 or 16 year old is that much mre stupid than an 18 year old.

After all, there are child soldiers IRL and presumably they are good enough for whatever criminals that use them.

I think Last of Us minor has 13 year olds carrying a gun. So i would never be ok with that as an adult

Turning children into soldiers is wrong, but the fact that they exist means that they are effective enough and probably cause more damage to the enemy than themselves.

Desperate times, desperate measures. Probably in that universe, giving a weapon to a 13 year old is better than not giving them a weapon and being less armed against zombies or criminals. Also, children probably get trained to use guns at a young age because of that, similar to child soldiers IRL. Also, AFAIK, in the past it was OK for children to have guns in the US.

In the past, in some countries, 12 year old was considered old enough to marry and children as young as 7 operated dangerous machinery in the factories (given more dangerous jobs that the adults could not do because of their size). The laws eventually got changed for the better though.

Discussion surrounding legality of carrying guns belongs only in debate pit. As the OP will not have access to that area until they reach 100 posts I’m locking this topic.
