general questions Confused About Character Counter

I've been posting in a thread in the forum games section. In this game you just need to type in a number. Yesterday and earlier today, I would post just the number, but it wouldn't let me post, saying that the post I'm trying to make didn't have enough characters. In the last couple of hours, it's been letting me post just the number without stopping me. Obviously that's good, but I'm a bit confused.

Edit: It still is fluctuating between working and not working. Now in other threads as well. :/
