Of Plants and Potions (1x1 with Princess Silky)

Late spring days in Ponyville were the best around, as most ponies would agree. Plenty of sun, not too hot or cold, in general a pleasant time to be out and about running errands, doing chores, or just strolling through the town and enjoying the day. On this particular day, it seemed the entire town was out, with ponies hustling and bustling along the main thoroughfares, having fun in the park, collecting items in the market square, and just being happy.

 

A cart loaded with various packages moved along the road, pulled by a gray earth pony. Longhaul, as most of the town knew him, was making his usual delivery rounds, stopping at various businesses and homes to drop a parcel or two, chat briefly with the recipients, and move on toward his next stop. He was a reliable sort, often stopping during his route to help a pony that needed some form of assistance, asking nothing in return for his services. He'd work from dawn to dusk most days, if it were busy, not stopping until the very last package was safely where it was supposed to be.

 

This particular day found Longhaul traveling down a street that he very rarely visited. Neat little homes lined the roadway, very well-kept and seemingly upper-crust in the social order. His cart was still quite full, most of the packages going to this one address in particular. He checked the numbers on the houses, counting down until he had an approximate location of the address. As he got closer, he could see a garden, immaculately tended and bursting with different type of plants, and more plants were in window boxes or in hanging baskets around the property.

 

It was close to noon when Longhaul pulled up in front of the house. Unhitching himself from the cart, he went to the front door and gave a sharp knock.
