gaming Golden Sun 4 is in jeopardy D:

So, Camelot, makers of Golden Sun, one of the finest RPG series out there 9and also makers of Mario Tennis and Mario Gold) just said this:

http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=178977

In a nutshell:

Making an RPG is a lot of work, so we'll only finish the storyline we left halfway done in the last game if enough people tell us to.

But, as we have proven over the years, the Golden Sun fanbase does not die out. It does not sit quietly and go into lurker mode. It's always active, and it wants more Golden Sun. So it started Operation Sunrise, which aims to show that, yes Camelot, we do indeed want GS4. SO here's a petition and a facebook page and stuff :/

PLEASE HELP US. WE NEED THIS GAME.

What I THINK was the start of Operation Sunrise:

Petition:

Facebook page, which *hopefully* will become a place where the fanbase can coordinate, or something:

It wasn't nearly as good as the first two, but it was decent.

My main complaint was the complete lack of difficulty. It was really easy. Like, super, ungodly easy. I'm talking $2 whore easy.

To be fair, one of the first communities I ever joined was a Golden Sun related one. That board has pretty much died so far. Another board I sometimes checked, recently closed down because of inactivity. I should check how Golden Sun Realm is doing, last time I checked it still existed, but I doubt it has been very active.

I think some problems are the lack of survivability of complete single player games. Golden Sun Dark Dawn had no multiplayer, could't even get on WiFi to battle people like you had linked battles in the previous versions. the game was far more linear and had way too many sudden points of no return, which made me feel very frustrated.

While I don't doubt people want another Golden Sun, I want one too, but I want it to be more like Golden Sun The Lost Age was, allowing you to explore the full map, and have many epic adventures and side quests, and side quest bosses. Also the ending of Golden Sun Dark Dawn felt half baked. Well, so did the story, because the game kept telling different stories, perhaps more information would come in a sequel. but right now I feel like I set through act 1 of a movie and have no clue what exactly is going to come next.

Yeah. That's why I, and many others, are so surprised that Camelot doesn't seem to be planning a GS4. I don't see why somebody would leave that much stuff unanswered if they didn't intend a sequel that would explain stuff.

By the way, were you ever on Temple of Kraden? It's still somewhat active, as is the Dark Dawn board at GameFAQs (but we get really weird over there, I'm not sure I'd recommend it :P)

I remember the first Golden Sun, I played far too much of it ages ago. Was a fantastic game.

Never bothered with the second one, though (although I was aware of it's existence).

Temple of Kraden somehow got itself affiliated with the revival forum i went to called Golden Sunrise. So I have heard of it.

You think the first was good?

The second was just as good, if not better :)

Personally, I liked the second better, but I don't speak for everyone.

You owe it to yourself.

Basically, take everything that made GS good and add more of it :)

It's longer, bigger map, more puzzles, more interesting locales (you really get the feeling that this is a diverse and cultured world), more djinn, more summons (with more amazing animations), more lack of a cliche storyline, a freaking airship...

And I must say, the other two lighthouses are amazingly well designed, as are is the rest of the game. But the lighthouse are just amazing :)

And it's a GBA, so I can use my SP for it (hate the DS).

Might just go grab it ...

*browses ebay and amazon*

I can get it for $13 ... not a bad price.

Dang, really hope they change their minds, Dark Dawn needs a sequel. :(

You can also transfer your clear data from the first Golden Sun, either through gamelink cable or tediously long password(if you want to transfer everything that is, which you MUST do if you want to 100% The Lost Age, that is if you did so for GS 1). You don't get to use the original 4 at first though. ;)

This is the only "Operation" I will support. I enjoyed all three games and was operating under the assumption that a fourth one was on the way someday.

Yes. There are 3 password levels:

Bronze: transfers only the djinn you collected, the party and their equipment will be a default set when you get them.

Silver: djinn, levels, and either equipment or stats. Pretty sure it's stats, but I'm not sure.

Gold: everything. It's super long.

If you don't transfer, you get the default party, with I think 5 djinn of every element.

TLA has 4 secret dungeons, 1 of which requires you to have all djinn from both games, so you have to transfer if you want to get to it.

If you missed any djinn in the first game AND you transfer data, you can find up to one of each element you missed at different parts of the game. So you only really need to find 6 of each element in the first game to still get everything.

Anyway, Strife, I know the game inside and out, so I can probably answer any questions you might have :)
