Anyone else notice that Canterlot High is small?

Hi Hi Everyone!!

While I was rewatching Equestria Girls, I realized that there are ONLY 6 faculty members/staff and there are ONLY 27 students (not counting Princess Twilight or the Dazzlings because they were barely there and I don't even know HOW they got enrolled but that's unimportant) 

 

Did anyone else notice that or is it just me?

In the first movies, yes, but looking into Friendship Games they added more background characters as students to Canterlot High, and I believe the micro series/specials added more characters along the way tho I'm not sure

Well, they added a lot more background characters as the series went on. I always assumed that there were more Canterlot High students who were never seen on screen, and given how big Canterlot seems to be, I imagine there are other schools in the area besides Canterlot High and Crystal Prep.

I'm going to agree with Joe and Octavia above me. As the EQG movies and series went on, more characters were added to the background. I do feel though that Canterlot in the EQG universe is more of a small town (Crystal Prep was located in the city as shown in Friendship Games), so naturally there won't be many students at Canterlot High.

The more characters you add to your world, the larger your world will feel. The thing in Movie 1 is that maybe they thought making a lot students that are just recolors of other students would look weird, it's not like with the Pones, pones people were used to see a lot of recolors since the first generations, so I bet it was mostly a artistic choice, they wanted to make everyone look unique, so they had no choice but make 50% of the students as completely new characters, and the other 50% as human versions of the background/secondary pones.

Now why characters like Lyra and Bonbon took two movies or more to appear, I really have no idea, maybe they decided to just save them for future appearances like Fleur de Lis? no clue

Shmoll indeed... That is if you only count the famous ones. You forgot the photographer who no one notice and other shut ins and introverts who hid their presence well....
