He was a g1character so i'm not pretty sure because i never watched mlp g1. But the one in g4 is nothing but a cosplay by Discord

You're right about him being a g1 character, but Grogar actually did exist in g4 sometime before the show happened because if his bewitching bell exists in g4 than so would he.
