I'm guessing this consists of media that we find ourselves in the minority for enjoying?

Godzilla 1998

Spoiler

This was my exposure to the big lizard without any prior knowledge to the rich culture behind the rubber suit, and Inlove dinosaurs, so this hit the spot for little ol me and the nostalgia remains.

Battleship 2012

Spoiler

This film is like a lactose intolerant person hosting a dairy themed party. The premise is beyond stupid, extremely cheesy, has explosive results, but boy was it a ton of fun.

Even popular shows can be flawed, Dragonball Z is one of them. But really it's a story of its heroes making bad decisions and getting lucky, kind of annoying that it took the entire Dragonball Z series for Vegeta to learn to cooperate instead of his "every man for himself" routine, he made the same mistake in Buu arc as he did in Cell/android arc, lets his enemies reach full power to satisfy his ego.

I guess a guilty pleasure movie for me would be Space Jam, it had such a great theme song though, but good songs alone, do not make a good movie, it had its problems which critics did point out.

A guilty pleasure video game for me, it would be Sonic Unleashed, again, that game had a great OST, but problematic video game design.

I’m of the mind that you shouldn’t feel bad or embarrassed about some of the things you like. I’m seeing some genuinely good things here

I’m bringing this up because Pawn Stars is 100% my guilty pleasure and I feel bad for liking it as much as I do lol

I don't see anything inherently wrong with liking Space Jam movies either

the premise of Looney Tunes characters of recruiting a basketball superstar like Michael Jordan I did not have a problem with. It made sense given the situation they were in, because even an immortal has something to fear.

The 1993 Super Mario Bros movie. Dreadful adaptation and the hell that went on behind the scenes was something, but man, I love the blade runner city and the whole vibe of it. It has no business being a Mario movie, but I've learnt to appreciate it for what it is.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

You’re right, but this is just to share interests in things you like that most people don’t.

With that in mind, I find myself drawn to media that is more towards a "family" audience, I find the writing is forced to be more intelligent. I've grown very tired of "adult" media that has washed out colours and excessive amounts of gore, sex and violence to show just how "mature" it is, it becomes boring when you just outright state this stuff, I find implied humour is way funnier and has more gravitas.

Same here. I’m more into family audience media.

I like edgy stories sometimes, it just depends on the context or what the plot is about. If it's meant to be whimsical like My Little Pony then that just doesn't fit.

Some people get shamed for liking this especially adults. But that is not right, it is cruel and unfair to shame people for liking cute things. MLP FIM is too popular to be considered a minority thing, but even if it was a minority thing I'd still love it. To abandon this to me, would be like abandoning principles of unity and friendship, I'd still care about friends, however abandoning my support for MLP just because of others judgement of me, would be wrong. Showing defiance is what's needed here, even if people consider us weak or immature, or call us losers.

It's more brave in my opinion, to like something whimsical even if you know others may judge you for it.

Other than MLP, other whimsical stories I like are Legend 1985, Flight of Dragons and Labyrinth.

Legend 1985 would be considered a guilty pleasure for me because it wasn't exactly a critically acclaimed film, but it does have a fandom that supports it and praise it for what it set out to do. Tell a tale about two unicorns that have the power to keep the world in balance as long as they live, while a villain in the story, Darkness, wants an eternal night so he can rule forever.
