Tom 891 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 In this thread here, we have a large amount of members posting their aliases for various gaming platforms. While it does work I think having either a single post with every members information in it. Or a database, much like the Character Database would be a lot more efficient. Not only would it be easier to look at, but also to search for particular members. As the search function for threads doesn't include poster's names. But both of the above would rectify this problem. The only major drawback here would be the work required to compile what's currently there into whatever format we would use. 2 I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar. Prince Lightning Da Cute 619 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 I think a database would be better, it cuts down on posts and makes it easier to find, how hard would it to be to implement and how much do we actually need it? 1 I'm the Son of Celestia And when i'm King who else did you think would be Queen? Jokuc 8,173 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 I would like a Database better but I don't think the moderators would make a database just for this. It would be much easier to make a A single large post with information
Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,526 June 20, 2012 Founder Share June 20, 2012 This sounds like something much better suited to a custom profile field than a separate database. It's easier to create and easier to maintain. What do you guys think? Only concern is how relevant it is to MLP Forums as a pony community, considering that most members come here to talk ponies, not find gaming partners. Adding too many custom profile fields could make your profile page look very cluttered. Then again, it's up to you how many of them you choose to fill in. 5 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi

Twiliscael 3,960 June 20, 2012 Share June 20, 2012 I personally like the profile idea. Its already got Steam IDs. I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . .

Killian Jones 2,655 June 20, 2012 Share June 20, 2012 It could work for Steam, XBox Live, PSN and anything which uses a single ID for the entire thing. The Nintendo friendcodes would not be possible this way, but profile fields, i am ok with this, it only clutters the user's own profile, or you could be like Tich and add a very, very long list of nonsense to it anyway. breaking the entire purpose of the about me field.

May I also point out that the 3DS uses one system-wide friendcode, so if this is done add that as well. I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar. Nas 2,873 June 20, 2012 Share June 20, 2012 (edited) Here's a little more in-depth look on what the gamer ID icon thingies to. These open up in another window when you click on: PSN: XBL: XFire (a service that we do not support here on MLP Forums, but I'm posting it here for more information purposes): Steam: Now take note that this involved more of then the vBulletin UI that we already had to work with, so I'm not sure how it could translate to IPS, but maybe if it's specific (like on my other forum), then it could possibly work out.
