gaming Can someone explain the Assassin's Creed storyline?

I just got Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations today. I no nothing about the storyline so all I want is a little background information. I ONLY WANT UP TO WHERE BROTHERHOOD STARTS! Just a quick, brief overall summary is fine.I've been having a bit of trouble finding the story online so I thought the best place to get it is from the people who actually play(ed) the game. Hope i'll enjoy these games, heard they were really good

 

(Got an awesome deal for these games also. I bought Brotherhood used and Revelations used for $53 together and got Oblivion GOTY Edition used free. So 3 used gamed for under the price of 1 new one )

Just go on the Assassin's Creed wiki and read up on 1 and 2. They have the story in detail, but nothing beats actually playing them.

Well I guess I'm an appropriate answerer to this question

 

So basically in AC1 A man named desmond miles is kidnapped by a company called abstergo industries. They put Desmond into a machine called the animus which will let you see the memories of your ancestors. Abstergo wants something but they wont tell desmond what they want. So they view the memories of one of Desmonds ancestors Named Altair Ibn-la Ahad who was an assassin in the 12th century. So Desmond has no access to the outside world and lives in confinement. So they go through all these memories and there are 2 people who watch desmond while he's in the animus A girl named lucy and an older Doctor. So at the end abstergo finds what they need to find and the old doctor guy tells Desmond they have to kill him and then Lucy reveals she is an assassin and that the assassin order still exists. She beats up the doctor and her and Desmond escape the building.

 

In AC2 desmond and lucy go to a hideout sort of place with 2 of Lucy's allies a man named Shaun Hastings and a Woman named Rebbecca Crane. So desmond is put into their animus and now relives the life of another ancestor Ezio Auditore de Firenze (hence my username) who was an assassin in rennisance Italy. Well Ezio was pretty much a normal 25 year old kid in AC2 and suddenly his family is betrayed by the Florence Government. His dad little brother and his Older brother are all executed. Before he dies though Ezio's father tells him that they are assassins and gives Ezio all of his assasssins gear. So as Ezio is learning all of these fighting and parkour type skills so is desmond through the animus. at the end of AC2 they are confronted by the old doctor dude and some mercenaries and desmond kills them all with his newfound abilities except Vidic (the doctor guy) who flees the place. Desmond and the rest also flee. and that leads you to brotherhood.
