Looks good so far. They used plants. Rising trees and towers, it does feel epic. They have now combined the 5 fire olympic rings. ...Did the queen just jump out of the Helicopter? Rainycakes 30 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 It was a great opening ceremony! I especially loved the torch lighting ceremony where we finally found out what the heck all those kids were holding while all 204 countries wlked through the stadium. I was impressed especially by BBC, which played the entire ceremony without cutting to commercials... unlike what NBC is doing.....
HomuraBL 851 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 (edited) We are now at the peter pan part...What the heck!?! When did this happen? Did this happen in the book or something? Oh wait, they are putting stuff from different things, not just peter pan. Edited July 28, 2012 by Bandana RaccoonBLee
null1 606 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 (edited) When I looked on Drudge, I fell for the top story of the Queen parachuting into the stadium. But it was just stuntmen. I mean it really would have been badass if she actually jumped out and landed in the stadium. Could have topped Princess Celestia.* *(Banished to Moon) Edited July 28, 2012 by DeltaTangent

null1 606 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 Watching the Parade of Nations, the Israeli flag bearer had the Star of David buzz cut into the side of his head. Clever. Czech-Republic's uniforms with shiny blue rainboots aren't as bad as USA's berets.
Nas 2,873 July 28, 2012 Author Share July 28, 2012 Wow, I forgot about the Parade of Nations. This is beautiful. I missed Germany and Ireland, but USA's still to come. Man, what did I miss?! Whiteshade 1,426 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 I watched some of it. US looking sharp in le berets. Also I wasn't aware that the Parade of Nations included entities not recognized as countries (Palestine, HK, Taiwan, "Independent Athletes"). The more you know. 1 Warning: Signature may cause seizures, owner will sue you if you complain Nothing happens, yet everything changes.

Batbrony 16,055 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 (edited) Fantastic opening ceremony, had a far more... IDK, human feel to it than Beijing did. Beijing had an uncomfortably perfectionist and almost artificial feel to it, like a well oiled machine celebrating simply the achievements of China. London's Opening Ceremony felt very real and organic, acknowledging both the triumphs and hardships of British history and culture (I especially loved the moment of silence for all soldiers who have perished in all nations since the outset of World War I). God's blessings to all of the nations' athletes, including our own athletes from the good ol' U.S.A.!!! C'mon ya'll, let's show the Mother Country just what we're made of!!!!!!! Nas 2,873 July 28, 2012 Author Share July 28, 2012 Well that was just amazing. I am speechless right now. The collaboration and joining together of all the nations, the lighting of the gigantic torch, the mesmerizing fireworks session...just wow...this is exactly why the Ceremony is undoubtedly one of the best parts of the event. This is what makes it all shine. So many iconic people all in one structure, together, celebrating the world's greatest sporting event that hash been tradition for over 100 years...it truly is a sight to see, as it stands for all the hype of the Games. It's definitely one of my favorite organized sporting events to watch, as everyone has their own team (or teams) to cheer on and root in passion for victory, as that is what the Games are all about. All of these nations and their representatives under one roof...an amazingly eye-catching and beautiful performance...all I can say is... Let the games begin. 1 My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. Where that journey is headed now, who knows... Batbrony 16,055 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 (edited) Fantastic ending with Sir Paul McCartney!!!! Congratulations to our British neighbors across the Atlantic to a fantastic start to the XXX Olympic Games!!!! To all British bronies, enjoy hosting the games in your nation over the next 2 1/2 weeks!!!!!!! P.S. I couldn't help but notice everypony saying "let the games begin" right now, so I figured I'd say it as well, in my own, uh, "special" way... Edited July 28, 2012 by Batbrony 1 "You'll hunt me. weegeez 150 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 Screw USA! (no offense) It's all about Canada and BANGLADESH Although in truth I'm not a HUGE fan of the olympics, the biggest sporting event of the year is already done for me, and the Spanish were the champs of that
MrLoopySquirell 2 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 (edited) The Olympics have gotten off to an awesome start! The opening ceremonies were great! Personally, I'm supporting the U.S. mostly, but also Belarus because reasons. Aldo, I saw a person saying, "there's nothing more patriotic than Watching the Olympics and saying every country sucks except America..." which I couldn't help but laugh at because they kind of missed the point of the Olympics. But hey, opinions. Edited July 28, 2012 by MrLoopySquirell SSP: http://www.youtube.com/user/MrLoopysquirrel?feature=mhee

If I had no self control, I'd be foaming at the mouth shouting "'MERICA!". But yeah, Olympics are for all the countries all around to come together and play the games.
