So what do you do to get inspired to create your form of art?

 

I know for me getting started is the biggest problem and it's hard to overcome that at times but I found going through a source, like watching part of an episode of Friendship is magic and looking for something off or weird or different from the norm can inspire me to try to expand on what I've found and start creating. How bout you?

I'm a creative writer, so fan fiction is my thing. Unfortunately, my muse is a bitch most of the time. I have trouble starting, I often have trouble maintaining focus or interest in the story, and I can easily get stuck if I don't know exactly where or what I want to go with the story. My issue is that of a lot of writers: I treat every sentence with great care, truly treating it as an art form that needs to be perfect. Unfortunately that means I often never get anything done </3 But the few times I do have inspiration, like right now, for example, I bang out stories fast, but well-done.

 

As far as specific things, sometimes episodes and art or other stories help, but frankly, it comes and goes xD; I'll just eventually think of an idea that strikes me unlike all my other ones.

My muse is music. When I listen to music, I'm instantly ready to do any art, whether it be visual art, music type art stuffs, or even writing (which I never do anyways ). So yeah, music.

For me, writing is usually after readin a bunch of fanfics, or staying on the forums for a few hours non stop. When I draw, it's usually just random stuff with no real point so no insparation needed for them.

My muse would be my mind... (and music, but that's for helping me keepin' on drawing something).

 

Basically, my mind can be almost like a bottom-less chasm sometimes, containing all the stuff I've seen, read, heard and learnt. Let's just say I can go into a sort of state of dreaming, at which it's almost only what's in my head that exists. It's like exploring, I guess. Or imagining a lot of things at once, like a story.

 

So what would happen, is that I get one idea, and it branches in every direction from there. Kind of creepy sometimes though... So almost ANYTHING can be my muse, as long as I've seen or heard of it.
