Stupid argument

Ok so me an da friend were have a stupid argument and it came down to a dispute between this:

 

 

me: "thats the equation for should you not help"

friend: "yah"

 

 

He argues that what I said has multiple interpretations while I'm saying that it doesn't.

 

Basically does what I say mean anything more than: that what ever equation is being discussed is used to find out whether or not someone "should not help" someone?
