Luna's old or new look?

I would have to agree with you PonyPowa. I think that her new look does make her look more like the princess of the night. It also creates a sense of equality among her and celestia with the whole flowing mane thing.

I think they did an admirable job aging her in season 2.

In season 1, her design seemed rushed, which was okay given that she was kind of a bit character at the time. As she became more important, a better design was obviously needed for the hero shots to work, and they got a good one.

New look, definitely. She looks a lot more mature than her old self. It was weird for me to look at Nightmare Moon, and then see her much smaller, kid-like self. Edited by ᾼ Dusk Ω

Old Luna was certainly more dramatic looking and powerful, but the new design speaks much better to her softer side, and IMO looks a heck of a lot cuter. All for the best.

Luna's new look is what I expected when we first saw her, and I prefer it over the filly form we first saw instead. When we finally got the look I had imagined from the beginning it was surprising because I had already come to accept her as a foal. I'd like to know the reason for the original design and the later change.

Easy explanation, to defeat Nightmare Moon, Luna essentially had to get stripped of her powers, an it took a while for her to get them back in full .....

The new look is more detailed, more regal, and looks nicer, but her older look is also really good. The new look does make her look more like a Princess though.
