Immortality is Sue'ish.

It depends on the setting. In Highlander for instance, all the main characters and villeins were immortal. In any case, immortality simply means that I can't die from old age.

Any problem that you may experience on this site can be solved immediately if you simply throw Fluttershy into a wood chipper.   You can trust me on this, because I'm an administrator. Would I lie?

When you die, your body goes into an unstoppable rampage until your mind regenerates. Basically, you can't stay dead.

Immortality + Invincibility = Sue

Tons of villeins can't be killed by normal means. It's a standard feature for an eldritch abomination.

Let me repeat myself.

Immortality + Invincibility = Sue

That's simply wrong, AI. As I said before, it depends entirely on what kind of story you're trying to tell.. And I'm not invincible, Dan, I just have Joker Immunity.

But you use the same villain and abilities in EVERY DAMN STORY.

Romantic comedy? Eldritch monster.

Action packed medieval adventure? Eldritch monster.

Mystery/ Problem Sleuth? Eldritch monster.

Thriller/ mass murdering killer? Eldritch monster.

Sci-fi Chuck Norris Michael Bay explosion movie? Eldritch monster.

Eldritch monster? Eldritch monster.

Hmm. So what about the picnic on top of the giant crystal beast?

That's 100% cannon.

So, you could have killed the King every time I mentioned him eating a sandwich?

Nope. I could have attacked him, sure, but I would have most likely lost. He's almost certainly a peerless magician and psychic, and I'd bet my last boondollar that he's protected by highly advanced and extremely deadly technology. The plan was that I'd get the Programs to kill him for me once I found the machine.

A true Program would kill you on the spot. A Deviant might just listen to you.

Even if it was in their best interest to allow me to live at the moment?

So, you're saying that if I let the Programs know where the King was, they wouldn't go kill him?

Honestly, they would attempt to capture you, torture you, and when they have the information they need, kill you and use your body as an energy source.

I see. Dan, these Programs sound like a bunch of grade A buzzkills. Why don't we team up and destroy them? Heck, why haven't you taken care of them yet? Last I checked, Jerk Co. had near infinite resources.

Infinite resources, not infinite lives. Every Dan matters.

Excuses. You could easily build enough automata to destroy them. No Dan need even see the battlefield.

I'm working on that. The prototypes aren't perfect, but hey, that's why it's a prototype.

I'm serious, Dan! You could crush the Programs in an instant, yet you choose not to. Why?

Ha! There are many things I don't know Dan, and I'd like to keep it that way.
