Darn it, I was afraid of that!

 

Still, there is a method to the madness. I'm the final boss, the main antagonist. I'm supposed to be difficult, but not impossible, to defeat. I should be fought and defeated at the very end of the story when the main characters are at their strongest; I'm not meant to be taken on at the very beginning of the story. I have to be powerful, otherwise there will be no drama, no wondering whether the heroes will win or not. 

 

...Or I could just be a really bad Villain Sue. It's hard to tell sometimes.
