RYAN STARTED THE FIRE

(I must admit I don't get why they ported The Office to the USA - I mean, it already sucked compared to earlier series' that did the same or similar material much better - such as Drop the Dead Donkey - and while a US remake that totally misses the point/humour on a lot of it is very meta, I wouldn't have put money into the production.)

It’s fun if it isn’t overused.

(I forgot to mention it can also contain some pop culture references, but I think those usually fall into their own category of humor)

I guess I need more examples to be familiar with it :ooh:

the core of "meta" is that it is self-referential; meta-data is data ABOUT data; meta reviews review other reviews, and meta-humour is humour about humour, in the style of that original humour.

Riiiiight yes I'm aware of meta-data :ooh: . Makes sense :P

I think a good example of just meta humor is anytime there’s a stereotypical millennial child on TV or there’s some sort of political reference. Not all references are that extreme, most of them just reference very basic attitudes of whatever the reference is trying to point out. There’s another example w/FNAF 3 and how it’s an attraction built on all the horror franchising of Freddy Fazbear’s. In a way it pokes fun at all the merchandizing FNAF has gotten and how people like all the scary stuff instead of actually being afraid of it. I hope that all makes sense :yay:

Yes I suppose :) .

I think it's funny how Mark when he first played it the video said it was the "scariest game in years" :P . I mean I still remember my first scare but it wasn't anything super-terrifying :ButtercupLaugh:.

Slenderman is certainly scarier... I mean you're just... walking so slowly in the dark. Doesn't that feel really vulnerable? You can only run so often and get tired. It gets more tense as you go.

Don't look at it as a defeat, its a win, and then an opportunity to win again :)
